It was founded 25 years ago and has been moderately successful. The Maine Independent Cooperative Arts galleries mission is to provide exposure and education about the arts to the public eye. The gallery offers a variety of different programs and features to help bring exposure to the art world. The purpose of this project is to design a logo that is easily reproducible in a variety of sizes and in different applications, such as traditional business materials including business cards and statio- nery; traditional print media such as posters and publication advertisements; website and other online applications; retail signage and merchandise opportunities. The new logo to go with the gallery for its 25 th anniversary is a unique logo, it is an image composed of the outline of Maine as the paint on a paintbrush. And the brush is dripping to make it look a little more real, so that everybody can see what I was going for. The objective that I personal will accomplish with the completion of this project will be the ability to do a professional job, and complete task of that job in a timely fashion. It will also teach me about better time management and how to right a creative brief. For the Maine Independent Cooperative Arts 25 th year opening they will be starting a new section for contemporary and more traditional art. The goals of this gallery is too bring the art world to the people in a way that is easy going and enjoyable. The feel of the gallery when you first walk in is very light and friendly, making you feel calm and not out of place. The way the gallery with accomplish the goals that it has set for itself is to adver- tise to the age group that we are trying to get in the gallery, and by hosting regular open houses quite frequently. The target audience that the Maine Independent Cooperative Arts gallery is going for is the age group between 19 through 50, or even older. The type of people that we are trying to get to are the more mature and the type of people that can really appreciate and understand the art that we have. The type of education of the audience that would be interested in our art would be people in college or or gradu- ated from college. The income of the people interested doesn’t really matter we accept anyone who is in- terested in art and appreciate their company. The lifestyle of the people who we are going for is probably middle class and upper middle class, The values of the people that are interested in this gallery would be like I said people who can appreciate art and understand what the artist was trying to say or was at least going for. The competition of the gallery is just other local art galleries and museums. The way that we the Maine Independent Cooperative Arts gallery stand out from the other galleries is we are a lot more open to everyone who is interested in art, and we try to branch out to connect with the people more by having more art shows and having more benefits to help build the gallery.

This logo design is for Maine Independent Cooperative Arts

The purpose of the logo that I have made is to be a little more unique and original then the usual logo designs. I wanted to go for something different that was also easy to communicate. The thing that is being communicated through this design is, the bottom of the design is a paint stick and the outline of the state of Maine is the bristles of the brush. I believe the specific placement of the elements in this logo portray the paint brush is because I added in a paint drip effect to give it a little bit more of a com-bined feel to it.

For the words I used Gabriola, in a regular font, the size of the text is 0.3in.
