The site locates in the north of the traditional axis extention and the gateway of the Foshan to Guangzhou. It used to be the industry area therefore it has numerous potentials and great amount of land recourse compared to the city centre under high pressure of the conflict between between development and conservation. And the upcoming metro and monorail brings new investment and opportunities for the area. When comes to the site, the traffic problems becomes the priority not only due to the new traffic means but also the exisiting river and railway line cutting the site into pieces. Under these circumstances, a comprehensive scheme mostly following the principles of transit-oriented development was proposed.

This project is mainly to put forward a comprehensive scheme intergated the developement and ecological measurements in the Sino-German Eco Park. The Sino-German Ecopark is a cooperative project based on sustainable development. It is also the first ecological project both China and Germany have collaborated on. Bearing the principle of low carbon and ecologically sustainable development in mind, the Sino-Germany Ecopark will be built in an area which will also be used for the development of high-end ecological technology, while also acting as a residential area.

South higher than North, the terrain is relatively flat.
Rich in water resources, and the surface water quality is good.
No typical industrial pollution
With its own unique landscape advantage through cultural integration and innovation
There are a lot of valuable lakes that can be fully utilized for the ecological and landscape
There are also several good natural conditions biomes, which is worth to be protected in the plan in order to maintain the diversity of regional ecosystems.
The poor quality of existing ecological node - mainly refers to a single plant species woodland, obviously artificial forest, insufficient reservoir area of wetland habitats
The poor quality of existing ecological node - mainly refers to a single plant species woodland, obviously artificial forest, insufficient reservoir area of wetland habitats
Future disturbances sources increases - the introduction of industrial property, commercial and other disturbances
It is difficult to develop for lacking of infrastructure
keep the local ecosystem balance and biodiversity during development
Local ecological environment and landscape resources should be used maximumly.

According to the drainage plan, the park is divided into three large partitions, and the major drainage direction is from south to north. In the three large district, there is a major river drainage as a major carrier. And some storage region should be increased to improve regional water storage and flood control capacity.
The rainwater treatment, disposal and management philosophy has undergone significant changes in international.Rainwater reservoir permeability, slow row, utilization has become an important content of stormwater management.Germany, U.S. and Japan are the earlist countries to use and management of water resources. After decades of development, they have already have a wealth of practical experience.
The Sino-German Eco Park will be created an urban public space which is ecological harmony, pleasant scale and beautiful environment.Advanced international management concept of urban rainwater will be rational use in the park.Such as the roof rainwater collection, roof greening, underground rainwater storage and so on.In addition, we may use some measures such as reen roofs, low-lying green, permeable surface to strengthen secondary savings and infiltration of rainwater. We can make used of the landscape water regulation and storage capacity to reduce efflux rainwater, and the underground rainwater storage tank and other measures to reduce stormwater pollution.Through the implementation of these technical measures, We can show development trend of resource utilization of rainwater resources, prevention of floods, urban landscape, environmental improvements and other functions.

WINTER Here creates a great place for jogging and hiking! I do love the different looks in the valley throughtout the year. It changes from time to time.
I love the feeling of home away from home, especially for the German styled design. It brings great convenience living here and enourmous touch to the nature!
It is thankful to enjoy the nature in the urban context. Trees and birds are just a step away! Ideal place to grow up undoubtedly!
Interesting! This is a place for every birdlover! Thanks for the well-protected environment bringing back the birds to city.
Here is an inclusive community where has everything we need to gather together. Allotments, community home, local shops, home cooking..... I am so grate-ful to live here!

The site is aimed to develop as an international cooperation area for the High Tech Creative Park in Qingdao. This is a green land development with a u-shaped water surrounding and it is alongside by the central intelligence island which is a large magnet drawing great amount of attention and resourse. It was a great challenge to define the positioning for the site and find the catelyst for the place in terms of distracting from the Intellegence Island.

In the global context, various industries are undering an irreversible transfer from Japan, Korea and Taiwan to China Mainland. Qingdao is at the frontline and receiving positive policy towards developing industy.
Seize the advantages in brand, land resources and ecologi-cal context, the international cooperation zone should work with the Intelligence Island as to form a unified development core.
A lack of interaction between-manufacturing and services and the industry is still un-derdeveloped and in need of upgrade and transformation.

The selective site locates in the city centre of Leeds at the south bank of River Aire, mainly occupied by industrial land. It lies at the south bank of River Aire acting as an important role as the link of city traditional core and the riverside to the north. It is surrounded by Holbeck at the south and west and Aire Valley at the east.
Since the Leeds City Centre Vision launched at January 2008, the development of South Bank has entered to the agenda. Due to the decline of former industry and relocation of Tetleys Brewery, Leeds is provided with huge opportunities to reinforce its identity and attract people to live and work in the city centre of Leeds.

Based on the link, public space spreads along the slow-speed rout providing a pleasant environment.
Catalyst
Treat new city park and primary school as catalysts for South Bank area which can contribute to more attractions for visitors, business, and residentials.
Residential
Taking surrounding character areas into consideration, housing plots are alloted along the existing housing development and place community facilities along the potential residential route in plan.
Business
In terms of business plan, it is suitable to place business area within 10 minutes' walking distance, namely 800 metres. Considerating the flood threats, business area are located as seen above.
Existing Connections:
-Two footbridge which connect the city core and Royal Armouries Museum
- Leeds bridge
- Crownpoint Retail Park Entrance
Existing Heritage:
Within the site boundary, exisiting heritages are mainly along the waterfront and in Tetly's Brewery site.
Fill Connection Gap:
Take advantages of existing heritage and existing connections, build up a connected slow-speed route network.

The site is near the city centre of Gateshead which offers a great space to work on to provide a modern lifestyle due to strong strengths brought by the advantaged location. This detailed scheme is a part of stragtic masterplan of the neighbourhood design. The main concept of the design is to creat a cohousing neighbourhood aiming to establish a community hub in the centre of the whole scheme. Cohousing is to create a close neighbourhood as a result of increasing the chance for people to interact with each other. Based on the main idea of cohousing, it is designed for the target group of creative class in North East who share the same interest in design field. Providing shared public space and various typies of units, it is ideally to attract people at different age and diversed household.
Gateshead Neighbourhood DesignGateshead, North East, England
2012.3-2012.5
Shared interests is the starting point of a cohousing. In this scheme, the target group should have a relevant background in design and a willing to live together.
Sharing food provides the main time for people living in cohousing gathering together. Producing food, and organising a meal creat connect each individual
Living in the cohousing, one of the benefits is sharing tools in the community and outdoor space.
As to be sustainable, car sharing is to decrease the frequency of using car and as a close connection in the neighbourhood it can be an example for wider area.
