Block 1Block 1 is envisioned to be anchored by Portland’s first true Class A office building. Situated directly across from a new city open space, this office building with ground floor retail will enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the iconic Casco Bay Islands and Portland’s Bug Light Lighthouse. Block 2 (Historic Core)The “Historic Core” of the development is a celebration of Portland’s heritage. This block is comprised of seven historic buildings, two alleys, and two plazas, and CPB2 has worked extensively with Greater Portland Landmarks, Maine Preservation, and the local Historic Preservation Board to dedicate roughly 1.5 acres to a local historic district.
Portland Foreside is the site of the former Portland Company Complex. A company with local, state and national significance due to its role in reshaping the manufacturing process and its impact on the industrialization of the United States, specifically in the transportation field. The adaptive reuse of the 7 historic buildings, dating back to the 1840s, with ground floor retail will invigorate the neighborhood and provide a strong sense of place rooted in the masonry style and form of Portland’s industrial past. Upper floors will be converted to truly unique office spaces and new structures as well as additions will augment the old with clear demarcations of the past while celebrating the new.
