SYNOPSIS
Portraits of A Father Figure focuses on photographer and fine artist
Jonathon Chacon and his latest photo series, which focuses on men with
dual lives.
Those he tends to find are usually older, married, "straight" men with
wives and children who seek these younger men via craigslist while
they are away on business for sexual encounters.
At first, I was just intrigued by the idea of the project and decided to
follow his journey in completing his series, but through this process and
a series of interviews in which he tried explaining why he does this and
why he chooses these specific men, the film became more personal
when he came to the realization that he seeks these older men because
he doesn't have a father in his life. He was abandoned so he seeks this
father figure persona in the men he photographs.
In turn, the film became more of a profile piece of an artist that is
translated through his process and body of work.
CHARACTER BIO
Jonathan Chacon is a 19‐year‐old student at SAIC where he studies
photography as well as other art forms. His general theme tends to be of
a sexual nature and exploring sexuality all together as well as what it isto be feminine and masculine.
Jonathan lives in Cicero, IL with his mother, and his sister, her husband
and 3 children. His father abandoned them when he decided to one day
pack up and move to Mexico.
With the support of his mother and sister, he dreams of displaying his
art work in museums for people to see and relate to what it is he’s
trying to express.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The film’s target audience is everyone because I believe many people
can relate to what the subject’s going through in terms of family and
how family can influence your work.

FILMMAKER BIO
Lizeth De La O is a sophomore at Columbia College Chicago in the
film/video program trying to polish her skills in order to make them
more effective and mark her stamp in the film industry via
cinematography and sound design.
She has crewed in a number of her peer’s films and continues to explore
her passion for the arts at home.
She is currently in the process of working on Portraits of A Father Figure
as well as an untitled piece dealing with beauty and how we let others
influence what that can mean for us and how that, in itself, is self
destruction.
FILM UPDATE
Portraits of A Father Figure is currently in a really rough stage. The
film’s desired look is established although, there are a few things
needed to be shot and reshot. The story is also under construction. At
the moment, it seems to be very process oriented, but it is being shifted
to become more personal to the character and how his project closely
relates to him and why he chooses certain aspects of his project, which
then goes to a shifting back and forth from family to process and idea.
