Islamic culture of Silves, the sweet surroundings of Caldas de Monchique, the amazing

Mountain of Monchique, a stunning barrage of Santa Clara, the wonders of the Natural

Park of Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast, along with the typical Alentejo and

Algarve villages and towns express some of the experiences you will not want to miss.

The itinerary of 8 days / 7 nights has a start in the cultural city of

Silves and an end in the historic town of Sagres. Cycling north to

Odemira we are faced with a stunning environment of mountains

where you’ll enjoy magnificent views of the vast blanket of

vegetation and observe different types of animals in their natural

habitat. Following the track towards to the Natural Park (west and

south) the mountains landscape is replaced by the coast and by

the fishing tradition that remains on these lands.

The combination of the chosen hotel units (3 *, 4 *; Rural

The itinerary is designed for quieter roads and off road tracks, conquered by the sound of nature, and with a view to pleasing the safety and well-being. It features mostly flat terrain with an average of one / two medium ascents per day. With an average of 45 km per day, easily crossed. routes are supported by detailed roadbook that is provided.

Temperature Blessed with over 300 days of sunshine, the Algarve offers excellent temperatures to enjoy a cycling route at any time of year. Average temperatures vary between 15 degrees in January until the 30 degrees in August and 20 degrees in November.

Getting to Faro Plane – You can book your airfare to Faro airport by several airlines, including Ryanair, Transavia, Easyjet, Lufthansa, TAP Portugal.

Bus – You can book your ticket from any point of the Europe to the bus station in Faro through the company Eurolines.

Train – Book your ticket to Madrid with Eurostar and then book to Faro (through Lisbon) with Portuguese company rail company CP.

1 Arrival in Faro

Transfer with MegaSport from Faro to the hotel in Silves, place where you’ll start your journey. The Castel of Silves, the finest example of the Islamic architecture of the country, it’s a must see in your trip to the village.

Cycling by the quiet roads and tracks you’ll make your way involved in a superb environment of mountain up to Caldas de Monchique.

From Caldas de Monchique to Santa Clara-a-Velha Follow the trajectory that offers you sensational views over the mountain of Monchique covered by pine-tree, eucalyptus, chestnuts, holm oaks, among others.

4 From Santa Clara-a-Velha to Odemira

The peaceful roads and tracks will lead you through traditional villages and cafes where you can taste some delicacies of the region.

5 From Odemira to Aljezur

Emerging in the beauty of the Vicentina Coast, reenters the region of Algarve in “Praia de Odeceixe” one of the seven wonderful beaches of Portugal. Take some time to involve in this magnificent environment.

6 From Aljezur to Aldeia da Pedralva

Crossing a rail mostly in off road track between the valleys of the mountains of the Algarve, you’ll be guided to the comfort of the nature and the beaches that Carrapateira offers.

7 From Aldeia da Pedralva to Sagres

Cycling along the coast the route offers exceptional views over the Atlantic with wonderful cliffs, to the fishing activity and to some unique monuments of the history of Portugal.

8 Return to Faro

Transfer with MegaSport from Sagres to the airport to you way back home, or stay some extra nights in the marvelous called Algarve.
