Instructions1. Before crimping the 1,0 mm POF* cable

to the optic contact, the end of the fiberhas to be polished. Stick end of POF* cableinto polishing tool and grind on a plane sur-face (e.g. glass plate). Wipe off anyresidues after polishing. The best opticaldamping values are achieved with wet-pol-ishing-procedure.

4. Optical Fiber crimpingAdjust the positioning sleeve into the corre-sponding inlet of the crimping tool with thestop screw at 1,45 mm (if necessary checkwith gauge pin, diameter 1,45 mm, withclosed crimping tool).Insert the optic contact, together with thePOF* cable, through the crimp opening of thecrimping tool into the positioning sleeve.By pressure on the contact, the fiber insidewill be locked into the right position for crimp-ing. Continue pressure until the release mech-anism is heard.

*POF = Polymer Optical Fiber

2. Strip the 1,0 mm POF* cable as follows: minimum 14 mm for D sleeve contacts andminimum 19 mm for D pin contacts.

3. Insert stripped POF* cable in sleeve or pincontact until stop. The optical fiber shouldthen stick about 1 mm out of the contact.
