EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION FORM
PMH Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Service formerly known as Hastings Women and Children’s Refuge Inc. formed in 1980 to provide crisis accommodation and support to women and their children or single women escaping domestic violence or in crisis. The service was funded by Community Services, Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP) in 1986/87. The service is a non-profit Organisation managed by a community based management committee.
Since these humble beginnings, the service has grown considerably and now includes:
Non-institutional emergency supported accommodation Outreach and Transitional Programs Colocated Programs with NSW Police and Housing NSW Education Programs and Support Groups Referral, Information and advocacy Case Management Planning for women and children
Our Organisation also receives funding through Community Services to deliver an Integrated Case Management Project in Taree, Port Macquarie and Kempsey and outlying communities.
Through the Project we seek to contribute to the strategic whole of government response to domestic and family violence through provision of services promoting co-ordinated access to judicial intervention and evidence based program delivery.

ESSENTIAL & DESIRABLE CRITERIA
ESSENTIAL Degree in social work, or other related discipline Demonstrated recent experience managing a staff team Demonstrated ability preparing reports and meeting funding targets Computer competency in word, excel, and other software packages Understanding of and commitment to feminist philosophies Knowledge and understanding of domestic and family violence Understanding of Indigenous and CALD community issues and effective
responses Ability to maintain and encourage effective networks Current driver’s licence
DESIRABLE Demonstrated ability to manage in a crisis situation with highly developed
problem solving skills Previous experience working in the welfare sector in a management
capacity
Community Partnerships Against Domestic & Family Violence Project (CPADFV)
Position Description
Position Title: Project Co-ordinator
Purpose of Position: To co-ordinate, promote and develop the operations of the CPADFV Project
Accountable to: Management CommitteeManager
Supervises: Project staff
The CPADFV Project is a multifaceted integrated case management project that aims to increase the number of domestic violence matters resolved through the justice system and better support those effected by domestic violence through a holistic model and approach.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Degree in social work, or other related discipline Effective written and verbal communication skills Computer literacy and data gathering capabilities Demonstrated capacity to meet key performance indicators and funded
service levels Demonstrated ability to supervise staff to ensure effective operation of the
Project Knowledge of domestic and family violence, sexual assault, and other
social problems A high level of interpersonal skills in dealing with clients, the community
and government and non-government organisations. Capacity to negotiate with service providers and private practitioners to
deliver an agreed service Demonstrated capacity in group facilitation work Ability to prepare reports and meet deadlines Ability to identify required tasks and goals and provide direction and
training to facilitate an integrated case management model to those effected by domestic and family violence.
TASKS INVOLVED: Project promotion Provision of training to participating community partners, including Police
Provision of quality advice and guidance to staff attached to the Project Rooms
Identify potential brokerage opportunities Overseeing the coordination of case management Developing referral pathways and protocols Promoting integrated community responses to victims of domestic and
family violence Supervising case manager/s appointed by the Project, including
developing and monitoring workplan/s and caseload Coordinating and attending regular meetings with stakeholders and
relevant community agencies to further the aims of the Project Ensuring cultural needs of clients accessing the Project Rooms are
adequately met Submitting reports as required Ensuring progress against project plan is achieved Collation of data and evidence to measure the Project’s effect Coordinating the delivery of LOVE BiTES Programs in Port Macquarie,
Taree, Kempsey and surrounding area high schools Addressing challenges arising for the Project and providing quality
feedback to Manager at regular meetings Ensuring mandatory reporting requirements to Community Services are
met Promote progress toward achievement of the Organisation’s Strategic
Plan and individual workplan tasks
