WELCOME MESSAGE

Dear Industry Colleagues,

As Chairman Advisory Board-The Energy & Climate Initiatives Society (ENCIS), it is my great pleasure to welcome you all to this 1st International Conference on Process Safety (INPSC 2017) here in New Delhi.

The state of safety is today more important than ever due to increasing global regulatory compliances & heightened public concerns over social and environmental impacts. Given the humongous consequences of an industrial disaster both socially & economically, Process safety is a strategic priority. Even companies with stellar safety records have often realised post Catastrophic Disasters that serious hazards could go undetected for years.

One of the key focus areas in process safety today is to engage the executive level in catastrophic event prevention. Innovative engineering, operational excellence & process safety are thus strategic board level priorties for companies to survive and ultimately thrive, with safety being the dening characteristic of an organizations mission and culture.

The International Process Safety Conference 2017 (INPSC) is thus aimed to engage the collective experience & expertise of regulators, industry, academia and technology organizations to discuss, deliberate, share & learn the best of engineering practices and leadership traits that would drive the industry to a “zero incident” culture.

We are very grateful to the ENCIS Advisory Board members, particularly Shri. Anand Kumar, who have put together an engaging programme spread over 15 thought-provoking presentations on 5 key themes. We are fortunate to have the support of a great cadre of sponsors including ONGC, OIL India Ltd, GAIL India Ltd, BPCL, Fluydin & Sparrow RMS whom I hope you will get to meet during the conference.

I sincerely hope you make the most of the debates and networking to follow. With this I convey my best wishes to all the participants for a very interactive, successful & meaningful conference.

Thank you for your participation.

A. K. HazarikaChairman, Advisory Board, ENCISFormer CMD & Director (Onshore), ONGC Limited

“Safety is Not by Choice” a simple expression that subtly denes & highlights a value that is most important today for asset operators & contractors around the world grappling with challenging business environments.

A proactive approach to process safety is now the starting point for operational excellence strategy across global industry. The need to create comprehensive systems, global consistency of practices, and increased scrutiny are thus some of the most used words in process industries today.

The International Conference on Process Safety, outlines ENCIS’s mandate to collaborate with regulators, asset owners & suppliers across the industry value chain through sharing the best practices, implementation of best in class technology & effectively mitigating process related risks.

Spread over 5 interactive sessions this years conference would provide an engaging & interactive opportunity the for local, regional and global representatives of the industry to address improvements in risk assessment, evaluation & management techniques, process safety management systems & incident management strategies etc.

Showcasing over 25 prolic speakers & 150 plus industry delegates INPSC 2017 offers exceptional value both as a traditional technical conference & a global networking forum.

On behalf of The Energy & Climate Initiatives Society, it is my privilege to extend you all a very warm welcome to the 1st edition of the International Process Safety Conference (INPSC 2017).

I convey my best wishes to all the speakers, invitees & participants for a very successful event.
