ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST
All applicants must fulfill the English Language requirement in order to be admitted to the approved programme. The faculty may interview the candidates who
have obtained their Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees from Institution where English is the main medium of instruction or as one of the mediums of instruction and
recommend to Senate for waiver. An English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT) will be conducted to gauge the proficiency level of candidates who do not meet
the English Language requirement and fail the English Interview (if applicable). Candidates who fail to meet the English Language requirement may enroll into
the Intensive English Language Programme (IELP) offered by MMU in the month of February, June and October.

NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC) FOR AFRICAN STUDENTS BEGINNING 1ST JANUARY 2011
This is with reference to the latest circular from Private Higher Education Governance Division of Ministry
of Higher Education (MOHE) Malaysia bearing reference JPT/GS1000-606 (13) (attached herewith).
This is to inform all parties that with regard to the circular, which is effective from 1 January 2011, all
citizens from the countries listed in Appendix B, as well as other nationalities who had studied in the listed
countries are now required to get a NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC) from their respective countries
Ministry of Higher Education or equivalent ministry for to be able to further their education in Malaysia. A
sample of NOC is attached as Appendix A.
Students who are already in Malaysia as tourist and decides to pursue his or her education in Malaysia are
required to get the NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC) from their respective High Commission / Embassy /
Consulate.
NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC) is now officially made as a compulsory document for the purpose of
applying for Malaysian Student Visa beginning 1 January 2011.
