    Demand and Supply

The supply of housing for the homeless is

    not increasing

Homeless people are in higher numbers

    due to our economic crisis

    - Food drives fall short to fully meet the needs

    - No money to create ways to provide housing to

    the homeless

    Lack of Funding

The needed funds to keep opening, facilities that are needed for the

    homeless are just not there.

-Fundraising ideas are limited and require a lot of volunteers

-Even free, rundown buildings require proper funding to maintain

-A lot of volunteer workers do it for free to be able to provide services as a

way of making up for the poor funding

The Stigmas and Problems of using

    Services

Many homeless people will not admit

theyre homeless or are too mentally ill to

    receive help.

People do not feel comfortable taking from

the services or do not want to admit they

    have help

A record will follow you if you have applied

for government services*this would be an unwanted record.

    Working towards Social Justice

Since the government onlyallows a small amount offunds, it is our part to stepup and provide the rest.

    As human service workers

we need to sacrifice most ofour personal needs soothers needs can be meet

-Although homelessnessand poverty may never becured, we can at least work

    to keep them safe andhealthy
