Simplify development, use and maintenance with seamless integration of PowerFlex drives and Allen-Bradley Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs). The Studio 5000 Logix Designer application serves as the single software tool to eliminate complication and errors associated with using multiple tools.

• Studio 5000 software can help reduce programming time by automatically populating drive parameters in the controller memory as controller tags – Descriptive tag names are automatically generated – Address mismatch errors can be eliminated

• Advanced graphical wizards walk you through drive parameter configuration – Increase productivity with easy access to system and machine level data as well as diagnostic information

• PowerFlex 755 AC drives offer the option of configuration with instructions embedded in ControlLogix® and CompactLogix™ Programmable Automation Controllers. The generated configuration parameters and programming instructions can be applied to both the PowerFlex 755 drives and Allen-Bradley Kinetix® servo drives to reduce programming time and provide a common user experience.

Automatic Device Configuration

With Automatic Device Configuration (ADC), the Logix controller can automatically detect a replaced PowerFlex 523*, 525, 753* or 755 drive and download all configuration parameters, minimizing the need for manual reconfiguration. This feature is available for PowerFlex drives on EtherNet/IP.

Simplified Drive Configuration

PowerFlex drives have been designed to make configuration fast and easy – with a choice of configuration methods:

• Connected Components Workbench software can help you get your drives up and running quickly with an intuitive interface and startup wizards. This free software uses Rockwell Automation and Microsoft® Visual Studio® technologies to make configuration simple.

• Studio 5000® software can help reduce programming time by automatically populating drive parameters in the controller memory as controller tags. PowerFlex drives are placed in the controller I/O tree, minimizing mismatch errors and further reducing configuration time.

• The Human Interface Module (HIM) features a high definition LCD that supports multiple languages with meaningful explanations of parameters and events so you don’t have to search through a manual for details.

Connect Your Entire Enterprise

EtherNet/IP is an established, broadly-adopted network that helps simplify and enhance machine design.

• Low cost, high performance and easy to use compared to a multi-network architecture

• Easily integrate any PowerFlex drive, I/O, smart actuators and any other EtherNet/IP connected device

• Dual-port EtherNet/IP connectivity supports linear and ring topologies as well as device level ring (DLR) functionality to help optimize drive availability

* PowerFlex 523 and 753 drives require a dual-port EtherNet/IP communication card for ADC
