They signed a 7-year lease in October 2019, allowing Rectifier Technologies to negotiate with their landlord to install solar to help alleviate business costs. Operations manager Paul Davis says “We’ve always used regenerative loads for testing, but these are not 100% efficient, and still require power from the grid. One example is our electric vehicle (EV) chargers testing regime, where we provide free EV charging to the public. Now with the addition of solar energy, we can make up the power required from a renewable source to reduce overall running costs.” “Origin’s commercial options were attractive and in line with our budget. Results that countRectifier Technologies ultimately decided to install a 26.4 kW system which is estimated to have an annual generation of 32,957 kWh. This means reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 23.3 tonnes of CO2-e/year1 which can be the equivalent offset by 30.4 acres of forest*. It is also estimated that Rectifier Technologies will be reducing electricity costs by $8,652 in the first 12 months of having the system installed.
