PowerLearn Portal – Overview for Parents Welcome to PowerLearn! After login, you will see the PowerLearn Portal and be automatically connected to your student’s classes. Here you will see:

• A listing of all of your student’s classes – if you have more than one student enrolled, all of their classes will be listed. See below for instructions on how to filter your PowerLearn view by student.

• Each class is labelled with a different colour, to correspond with related information in other areas of the portal. *Change the colour of each class if you wish by clicking the checkmark beside each class and choosing a new colour.

• A calendar of upcoming events which shows the combined tasks and events from all your student’s classes. • Announcements from your child’s teachers. • In the ‘Extras’ tab, School Communications pages relevant to your child’s grade(s). Here you will find

upcoming school events, invitations and announcements. • Although you will see a “Recent Grades” section, all grades will continue be entered into PowerSchool only.

Below is a view of the PowerLearn Portal. Each parent’s view will differ based on the classes in which their student is enrolled.

Classes Drop into any class by clicking on the class from the list in the left side menu.

To Focus on One Student at a Time

If you have more than one student enrolled at Westmount, you can focus on one student at a time in the portal by using PowerLearn’s filter feature.

1. Click the My Classes header above the list of classes, and select the student you wish to view.

Click the PowerLearn logo at the top left of the window at any time to return to the main PowerLearn Portal.

What Can Parents See and Do in a Class? A: Parents can see what their students can see for the most part, with a few exceptions.
