What is COVID-19?Coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19, is caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2.
• Symptoms can appear as early as 2 or up to 14 days after exposure to the virus; the usual onset is between 5-7 days
• It is possible for individuals to spread the virus for up to 2 days prior to the development ofsymptoms
• It is possible for people without symptomsto be carriers of the virus and unknowinglyspread COVID-19
*As of 2021, wearing a mask continues to be a requirement for all RIT faculty, staff, students and visitors to the RIT campus in accordance the RIT Ready Safety Plan. This includes individuals who have been vaccinated and individuals who have previously been diagnosed with COVID-19.
