State Budget Legislation
• $25 billion through the Robert T. Stafford Disaster and Emergency Assistance Program
• Funds available now that the President has declared a federal state of emergency
• Funds available to pay for or reimburse emergency protective measures taken in response to COVID-19
• Open to state agencies, local gov, special districts, tribal non-profits
Disaster Relief
• $500 billion through the Municipal Liquidity Facility from the Federal Reserve
• The Federal Reserve will buy up to $500 billion in short-term loans directly from states, counties with a population greater than 2 million and cities with a population of at least one million
• States can use their funds to help additional cities and counties
