Akogun (Secretary) I n its bid towards contributing to sustainable energy development in Nigeria, the University of Ilorin, through its Centre for Renewable Energy, has opened discussions with the Kyungpook National University (KNU), South Korea, on how a solar power farm can be established in the University of Ilorin, which will guarantee reliable energy not only for the immediate benefit of the University but also its environs. In its bid towards contributing to sustainable energy development in Nigeria, the University of Ilorin, through its Centre for Renewable Energy, has opened

discussions with the Kyungpook National University (KNU), South Korea, on how a solar power farm can be established in the University of Ilorin, which will guarantee reliable energy not only for the immediate benefit of the University but also its environs.

At a preliminary meeting between the management of the University of Ilorin and a delegation from the Kyungpook National University, one of the top ten universities in South Korea as well as representatives of the Korea Southern Power (KOSPO) Company, which held last Thursday (November 29, 2018) at the Old Council Chamber, University of Ilorin, the need to invest in the building of solar power farms to help address the epileptic power situation in Nigeria was underscored.
