Here is a real discussion directly from the ADS Online Forum:

Case: CAT C7 low power when warm

May 8

When ECT gets anywhere above 140°, it has next to no power. Boost is very slow to build, and will maybe peak around 18 PSI. No smoke at all, does not seem this is a mechanical issue (IE: turbo, HPOP, etc).

All pressures are good during this condition, ICP, fuel, BARO, etc.

Have already replaced ECM and have done 6 new injectors (to fix a rough run complaint).

If I install a diode in coolant temp harness and tell the ECM the ECT is 30°F the engine runs amazing and at full power. The second I reinstall connector to ECT sensor, engine has no power.

May 8

Issue comes into play as soon as PRESENT FUEL INJECTION MODE reaches level 1 or 2. When it’s reading 0 it’s got full power.

May 8

I just had one with no power when hot on a 2007 F750, but it spit-out a code 10204, Intake Boost Pressure voltage below normal. Replaced sensor on intake and all was good. Hope this helps!

May 8

Thank you. Not even a single code found.

Is it possible that maybe a corrupt file or setting was transferred to new ECM on the bench?

May 8

Seems like you are having an “in range” problem with a sensor. Just a guess, but it seems the low power is happening when it transitions from “open loop” to “closed loop” and starts adjusting according to sensor values, and one or more sensor is in range but on the low end of spec. I had a 7.3 do the same thing, fall on its face as soon as it hit closed loop, I would unplug the ICP sensor and force open loop and it would run great. It turned out he had the truck at Ford and they put in a new PCM and it had the wrong calibration for the truck. It was a late ‘99 and they programed for an early ‘99.

May 8

Yes sir. Closed/open is exactly how I’ve been explaining it. I don’t have any idea what the real terminology is beside the PID itself.

Faking the temp and getting the truck up to CAT dealer tomorrow to see if an update will help. Besides throwing every sensor at it, it would be better to make sure the calibration is correct.

Have since found the wrong injectors were installed. High horsepower injectors were put in, but ESN calls for low power. Be careful on the WAX engines as certain parts displays call for wrong ratings.

Verified oil condition, free of metal. Installed correct HP rated injectors. Engine has great power in all fuel mode ranges.

Now have a newish problem. When fuel mode reaches #2, ICP ramps up to about 42% DC and 1700 PSI. The engine has a cackle and fuel delivery is spotty. Right as engine cools and goes into fuel mode #1, like the flip of a switch, engine idles perfect @ 36% DC and 1450 ICP...

Trying to now confirm with dealer if there is a re-flash for REMAN injectors as opposed to new.

was very fortunate to attend this year’s Latin American meeting, May 14 – 18, in the Riviera Cancun, Mexico. I did learn a lot and certainly enjoyed the time I spent there. First and foremost, I found everyone

in this group to be warm and friendly. Yes, the setting was nice, but to me the big thing was the interaction between the Latin American members. This meeting, where most everyone knows everyone else, feels more like a gathering of old friends rather than a meeting.

To produce an event like this takes a lot of effort from a lot of people, thank you to Ricardo Berrueta (Berrueta Diesel), Franklin Chu (Electro Inyeccion Diesel Chu), Ruben Manilla (CBM Chemical) and Virginia Morett from our Latin American office for making this event such a success. I know how hard it is to have a good meeting and the uncountable details that must be handled. Every segment of this meeting was handled well.

The attendance for the meeting was very good with 152 individuals in attendance, and all the exhibit booth spaces were filled. Before the meeting started, there was a two-day Training Class on Cat C7 and C9 injector testing and rebuilding. Fifteen members attended the class and were very enthusiastic about learning.

We had a good presentation from Greg Arsenault, V.P. of Sales and Marketing from AMBAC. Greg explained AMBAC’s new direction, increasing their focus on products our service dealer network could use. So, I

guess the term “AMBAC is back“ is fair to use. AMBAC’s Chief Executive Officer, Robert Isherwood, also attended the meeting.

We also had a presentation from Lucas. Lucas is now entering our market with a new location in Miami. I am not clear today what their new venture means to our market, but I am sure we will see in due time.

At the closing dinner my dear friend former ADS President Chuck Oliveros was presented the Afredo Christlieb Ibarrola Award. This award was received for his hard work and ongoing support of the Latin American Committee of ADS.

It’s obvious there are lots of things changing in our industry. The best way I know how to keep up with this fast-moving industry is to come to this year’s ADS International Convention & Tradeshow. And along with me and other attendees, learn what you need to do to navigate your company’s path to the future. I look forward to meeting with you in Las Vegas!

elcome to the upcoming 2017 ADS International Convention & Tradeshow! As always, it has taken considerable thought, planning,

volunteer time and collaboration over this past year to produce the most informative and best industry experience for you, our attendees.

We have worked tirelessly to bring different additions, changes and options to the 2017 ADS Convention & Tradeshow. You, our ADS members, have shared suggestions and comments on how to improve your experience at the Convention. For example, many stated training is an important matter for them! Therefore, we have a new option this year. Included in your full registration fee is an entire day of training completely free of additional charge. The committee selected the topic of Duramax and asked Tony Salas of Powertrain Performance LLC to teach the class. If you are interested in this class, please don’t delay in signing up. The class is filling quickly. In addition to this class we have many more training seminars during the convention. Please check out the program at diesel.org/convention for all the sessions being offered.

Technology, the internet, and social media are now large parts of each and everyone’s business and personal life. Yes you can obtain

so much from these sources, however, there are still so many experiences that only an in-person meeting, such as the ADS Convention, can provide. The contacts you will meet, the relationships, and partnerships with new vendors is something you can only create face to face.

Thinking about making some equipment investment plans for the future? Come see new products and equipment for the first time, research and understand what you may be purchasing as well as being able to try them out. Talk to the individuals with whom you may be doing business. Interact with individuals, research new technologies, compare companies, suppliers and lots more.

Whether you are a first-timer or a loyal decades-long attendee, this is the place to be. Sure you can go to certain meetings where you will find “some of your suppliers,” but why not come to a meeting where you will find “most” of your suppliers, come together with an industry of supporters and ambassadors? You will make new and lasting relationships which will benefit you and your business into the future.

On behalf of the ADS Board of Directors, Convention Planning Committee,

and Staff, we look forward to welcoming you soon to the 2017 ADS International Convention & Tradeshow August 8 – 11, 2017 at the Wynn Las Vegas.

n article in the New York Post by Josh Cosman reported how Jeff Bezos and Amazon plan to become an even more significant player in the do-it-yourself auto parts and accessory market. With total revenue of $128 billion in the 12 months ending September

30, analysts project Amazon’s goal is to grow its auto parts business by 50 percent this year to $5 billion. Those numbers are why Amazon is the gorilla in the room when any industry discusses e-commerce and online retailing.

No single topic fuels more passionate debate from boardrooms to classrooms and spilling over into cocktail receptions – where some of the most insightful observations can be heard. Yet, with all this energy being invested in the discussion of a competitor, little consensus has been reached on whether selling to or through Amazon is a good business strategy or a short path to certain doom.

Can you find successful automotive businesses that are convinced Amazon is a strategic friend? Yes. And, are there equally successful automotive businesses that recoil at the thought of partnering with Amazon in any fashion? Certainly.

I am fortunate to have enjoyed a long career in the automotive parts and accessories business. I attended my

first AWDA conference in the early 80’s. In those years, the store count for chains like AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts and O’Reilly were measured in the hundreds. But, the fear and suspicion with which these operators were viewed was off the chart. There was certainly discussion about how to limit their involvement and participation in industry events and association governance.

As recently as this decade, a collaborative point-of-sale data sharing program was undone by the suspicion of the traditional parts channel participants that the retailers were going to gain assortment insights and become more successful at the expense of the wholesalers. “If we share this data, then they’ll use it to take share from us. Therefore, we’re pulling out of the program” … ensuring that no one can benefit from an industry-wide category management pool.

Today’s Amazon is yesterday’s AutoZone. They don’t feel an obligation to do things the way they’ve always been done. And they are constantly innovating to hone in on those things that customers value the most (reviews and ease of shopping) and eliminate the things that are not valued (shipping charges). After all, if you are still requiring that your customer pay for services and expenses that they don’t value, they will find someone else. But, if

n the service industry, your reputation is just as valuable as any of the products you sell. Building consumer confidence and brand loyalty

is a major part of your business plan. Don’t let one bad reaction to a dire situation destroy all you have worked to create. Plan now on how you will handle a crisis of any kind when it happens, because it is not a matter of if it is going to happen, but when.

They have been all over the news recently, another customer service issue turned into a public relations nightmare. Now, think of all situations that could happen in your company causing backlash, small or large. Think you know what you would do in a situation requiring you to speak to the media, stakeholders, customers? Some simple planning, training, and vigilance can save you and your company time, money and your reputation.

What is a crisis? It is defined as a condition of instability or danger, as in social, economic, political, or international affairs leading to a decisive change. The key here is the condition or instance leads to a major change. Handling the crisis can define how and what the change will be, and if it will be perceived as good or bad.

No matter the size of your company, it is wise to have a plan in place for crisis management. Even if that plan only involves you the comfort level attained having thought through the process will pay dividends in crunch time. As evidenced by recent events, one wrong phrase, speaking out of frustration or even not having all the facts, can cause damage taking years to repair.

A good crisis management plan is in effect well before a crisis happens. Your response is more important than the why of the situation.

I

PR Crisis Management

Page 14: PR CRISIS MANAGEMENT...PR Crisis Management Are you prepared to address the world if something happens to your personnel, your shop, your reputation, or anything else to threaten your

ANTICIPATE CRISES

Think about all the ways a crisis could affect your business, nothing is too crazy to consider. Could it be a vehicle catching fire after leaving your shop, a major accident involving loss of life in your facility, or a repair causing more damage? You may think these things could never happen to you or your company, but many have had the same thought and been caught off guard when they did. Their responses to the events have been unprepared and caused more harm rather than helped.

IDENTIFY YOUR CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS TEAM

Who is going to oversee putting together the plan? These are the key decision makers within the company who have the authority and means to affect the business. These may include the President/CEO, CFO, communications or marketing lead, shop manager, customer service lead, or other positions your company relies on for decision making on behalf of the company.

DENTIFY AND TRAIN SPOKESPERSONS

Know who is going to speak on your company’s behalf. This could be someone in communications, the President, or other C-level person and should be part of the communications team you created. These people or person need to have the inside knowledge gleaned from the meetings setting up the plan. Also, if this person is not a public speaker it is imperative they get training in this area. No matter what the message is if it is delivered in an unprofessional, uncomfortable, unconfident way the public will perceive it as not authentic.

ESTABLISH NOTIFICATION AND MONITORING SYSTEMS

As part of the plan the team creates is how staff, key stakeholders, and the public will be notified of the crisis or any response the company has. Social media is a key component to your crisis management plan. Information is quickly spread through the many social media platforms. These need to be monitored as there will be responses from the public you need to react to. Posting something, having others comment and not responding to those comments is a quick way to lose the publics’ trust and respect. Other channels may be e-mails, phone calls, press releases, mailed letters, or other forms of communication your company normally uses.

SITUATION ANALYSIS

Many things can be done in advance, however you need to plan how you are going to analyze the specific crisis situation you are in. Who is responsible in finding out the why and how it was created? How much of this information needs to be communicated with the public and how will overly technical jargon be handled? The specifics can’t be handled prior to the crisis but the

“who” and “how” can be, and helps for a faster response time.

POST-CRISIS ANALYSIS

Don’t forget to reevaluate your plan after the crisis has passed. There may be situations or messages you need to clarify or change the path of information to bring a cohesive and rapid response.

Remember the keys are to stay calm, address the crisis without making excuses, have a plan to ensure future incidents are mitigated, and don’t try to sweep it under the rug!

there is value in those services, you’ve got to remind them of what’s built into your price. It’s called marketing.

In the search for continuous improvement and exceeding customer expectations, the channel is continuously evolving and seeking even more efficient ways of getting what is needed to the point of consumption in the fewest steps and at the lowest cost. Whether it’s three-step or two-step or even one step – it’s all “distribution.” And whether it’s off-line, on-line or some hybrid

– it’s all “commerce.” The economic decision-makers of today and tomorrow are the millennials – a generation that has never known a day without the internet. And the way they want

to shop and buy products, for personal use or business, is digital. There’s nothing “traditional” about the parts business anymore. Constant innovation and investment in digital distribution is needed to hold the wolves at bay.

Now, a word about those wolves. Whether they go by Amazon or Alibaba, there is no magic in what they do.

They buy and sell products, just like any automotive distributor. But they do it on an unprecedented scale and they are not afraid to innovate and

stretch the envelope. Whether it’s delivery by drone, fully automated distribution centers or the gold standard for a web shopping experience, they are performing the same functions as any other automotive distributor – just better.

What is often lost in the discussion are the things that they cannot do as well. Product knowledge, domain expertise, cataloging and technical support, assortment planning

R&R Engine and Machine&R Engine and Machine is celebrating their 50th Anniversary. The company beganin 1966 with three employees and a 2,000 square foot building. Originally

named R&R Tool and Machine, they manufactured and machined specialized tooling for the automotive industry. In 1978, the fuel shop and a four-bay garage were added to meet the market demand in diesel fuel injection and repair. This addition also created a parts department, truck shop, machine shop, and fuel shop all under one roof and changing the name to the more appropriate R&R Engine and Machine.

Bryan Menke, the current president, came on board full time in 1990 and is instrumental in the day to day operations of the company. In order to be in the position today, Bryan said he had to work in all of the companies departments but noted that grinding crankshafts was his least favorite.

Throughout the years, the business outgrew the existing building many times and with a recent expansion of 7,800 square feet, they now have 16 drive-in service bays and an engine dyno, bringing the total square feet to 30,000. In fact, there have been so many

additions over the years, Bryan said the one thing he would do differently if he could would be to build a whole new building instead of continually adding to the existing structure.

The company is an authorized OEM engine dealer for nineteen different manufacturers including a full Cummins authorized dealer.

R&R Engine and Machine has been fortunate over the years to obtain government work. One of the most rewarding aspects of their work is seeing an engine overseas with their tag on it, knowing their work is helping the Army and doing good for the country.

There have been challenges along the way as with many business. The leading one is getting good hard working employees, getting them trained and retaining them until retirement. With the increased demand for diesel mechanics and the supply unable to keep up, this has become an all too common theme in the industry.

In 1993 R&R Engine and Machine joined ADS. Bryan went to his first ADS Convention & Tradeshow in Toronto and said he wished they had joined earlier. Meeting people and creating those invaluable relationships has been the main benefit for the company. Having the ability to contact others to ask questions or get their opinions is priceless. It is all about networking… all over the world!

Bryan has also been very active in the association through committees. He started on the Technical Education Committee with the TechCert program. He went to all of the trainings he could and obtained the TechCert Certified Master Technician. Later, he was asked to be on the Business Management committee by then chair Chuck Oliveros and recently he was asked to chair the Membership Committee. Volunteering on a committee is a great way to meet more people and to help the association grow and meet established goals.

In addition to ADS, R&R Engine and Machine is an active member in the AERA (Automotive Engine Rebuilders Association) and participates in the yearly expositions. They are also a member of MAPSA (Midwest Automotive Parts and Service Association) in which Bryan is a member of the Board of Directors. This association meets with fellow peers and Congressmen at the yearly Legislative

Summit in Washington D.C. to promote and protect the industry.

If Bryan could tell a new shop owner one thing it would be “Don’t get in over your head. This business is all about servicing the customer. Just because you buy equipment

doesn’t mean you will be successful. Most importantly, get involved with associations to get the help you need and help protect your industry.”

and stock adjustment, warranty and core management, and personal customer service – just to name a few. The profit margin in a step of distribution is justified by the added-value services it pays for. The auto care industry has a long list of services that should be marketed and celebrated as the things you cannot get from any pure e-retailer.

Is Amazon a “friend?” There are many who regard Amazon as just another retail channel of distribution. A number of auto parts suppliers justify the decision to sell directly to Amazon as a way to ensure that those customers who chose to buy through that channel got the full benefits of their brand. The decision to go straight to the customer through Amazon is not cannibalistic of the distribution chain. It’s preservation of the brand in a channel that values price more than service. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But for some, it is a way to ensure that their brand is featured on the results page and available for purchase.

Online retailing is the fastest growing channel of distribution in the auto parts business. It is a force of nature, like the wind and the tides, and will not be stopped. It

forces competitive pricing and ruthless business efficiency and constant innovation. But, more than 500,000 auto parts businesses turn the lights on every day to deliver the best service and shopping experience for their customers. They’ve succeeded against competition, by one name or another, for 100 years. Whether its OE parts and service, big box retailers, two-steppers or other non-traditional forms of distribution, competition is healthy and forces innovation. Is Amazon a friend or foe? Only you can decide which it will be.

Demand for aftermarket emission-related components are the fastest-growing component, increasing by 254% since 2010. And by 2021, demand will increase another 42%, according to John Blodgett, VP of sales and marketing for MacKay & Co., and Dave Kalvelage, manager of IT and database services. Other examples of how dramatically the aftermarket landscape is changing: • There is a shift to aluminum

radiators, impacting serviceability and the business impact on smaller repair shops.

• There is a shift from cleaning DPF filters locally to the use of factory-remanufactured product.

• There is a shift from remanufactured to new products for starter and alternator replacement from offshore manufacturers, mainly due to price equality.

MacKay’s current forecast is for the US aftermarket to be up 1.5% in 2017, based on the tracking of 670 components, broken down by category. The US aftermarket should be a $30.61B market this year, increasing every year to $34.6B in 2021. All product categories will be up 2% or higher for 2017, led by power transmissions (2.6%), cab/chassis (2.1%), and electrical (2%). Canada is forecasted to be up 7.2%, primarily driven by a 4.2% price increase. The Canadian aftermarket is forecasted to be $4.9B in 2017, increasing steadily every year to $6B in 2021. Class 6-7 sales in the US in 2016 came in 9.8% above the forecast (120,800, compared to 110,000). Class 8 sales were down 10.7% (193,000, compared to 215,000), and trailers were up 0.5% (280,100, compared to 278,700). Blodgett said the component manufacturers’ Aftermarket Index showed year-over-year declines in the US for OEMs (5.9%) and independents (5.3%) for a total decline of 5.6%. Canada showed a 4.1% decline, with OEMs down 14.8% and independents up 3.1%. In Mexico, there was a 0.1%

decline, with OEMs up 0.3% and independents down 0.4%. In parts sales, truck dealers were down 1.5% for 2016 and HD distributors were flat after being down 4.5% in the first six months of the year. MacKay & Co.’s Heavy Duty Independent Distributors

Index was down 1.8% year-to-date in the third quarter, while the OE Truck Manufacturer Parts Tracker was estimated to be down 2% to 3% year-over-year. In US model segment impacts, the index was down 1.5% in

Ford is recommending the use of a new Motorcraft diesel engine oil for its Super Duty trucks and warning fleet and commercial customers to avoid using most new CK-4 or FA-4 oils because they may cause damage to the engine. Motocraft’s WSS-M2C171-F1 formulation should be used in all Power Stroke diesels, especially the 6.7L that powers the F-250, F-350, and F-450, because it better protects the engine against high-mileage wear, according to the company. Ford had previously recommended CJ-4 formulations for its Super Duty trucks. On Dec. 1, the American Petroleum Institute (API) began licensing the new CK-4 and FA-4 oils. CJ-4 oils will eventually be phased out.

Commercial users should avoid the FA-4 formulation due to its low viscosity. CK-4 motor oils should be avoided because they provide “inadequate wear protection,” Ford said in a statement. The oil certification information is located on the back of the oil pouch in a circle known as the API donut.

Motorcraft Super Duty diesel motor oil is formulated with premium hydroprocessed base oils and additive technology necessary to meet WSS-M2C171-F1. This new oil also meets the requirements of Cummins CES20086, Detroit Diesel 93K222, Volvo VDS-4.5 and Mack EOS-4.5, according to Ford.

Ford Offers CK-4 Alternative Oil for Super Duty Diesels

2016 compared to a forecasted gain of 0.8%. The price was up 1%, compared to a forecast of 2%. Utilization was down 0.9%. In Canada, the estimated 7.9% gain ended up being 7.4%. A big driver of that was price, which had a gain of 3.7%, albeit 0.6% less than the forecast. About two-thirds of service work is done by fleets in the US, but just 58% in Canada, meaning that more service work is outsourced by fleets, and more opportunities for service providers. OE dealers get 21% and independent garages get 14% in Canada.”

echnical Training, seminars, a tradeshow and social events made up the program for the ADS Latin American Regional Meeting held May 14-18 at the Now Sapphire Hotel in Riviera Cancun, Mexico. A total of 152 attendees

participated in the event representing 23 countries in Latin America, from Mexico all the way to Argentina, as well as the U.S., Europe and as far away as India. A new record for the ADS Latin American Committee.

Prior to the start of the event, ADS sponsored a two-day technical training class attended by 15 technicians.

As is customary, the meeting started with the traditional ribbon cutting and welcome reception within the exhibit hall giving the attendees an opportunity to renew acquaintances as well as meet new delegates. Thank you to those companies in the exhibit hall who took up 24 booth spaces for their support of this meeting. Once again, the exhibit hall was filled with companies presenting their latest products and services, including two which we had not seen in some time, AMBAC International and Lucas.

On Monday morning the Latin American committee chair, Ruben Manilla, made the opening introduction. He informed the delegates of the committee’s activities over the last year including an increase in Latin American membership as well as many other developments within the Latin American Committee. These objectives were planned at last year’s meeting in Medellin, Colombia. Following the opening general session, delegates heard three days of business presentations, motivational speakers as well as presentations from manufacturers and suppliers regarding new products and services, as well as products specific to various areas in Latin America.

Monday evening, the fifth annual ADS Latin American Regional football (soccer) match between Mexico and “the rest of the world”, took place on the beach. After a grueling and very enthusiastic one hour and a quarter of play without a break, “the rest of the world” beat Mexico with a score of 4 - 0. A good time was had by all and we thank all those who participated as well as the cheerleaders and supporters for being good sports.

Tuesday morning after the presentations and exhibits time was over, approximately 125 attendees boarded busses for a trip by catamaran out to the Isla Mujeres and to the Parque Garrafon where attendees were treated to an afternoon of lunch, networking opportunities, exploration, and some R&R.

Wednesday the program continued with the remaining seminars and training sessions. That evening the closing celebration was a dinner and entertainment as well as awards and the traditional raffles. During the awards, the highest honor, the Alfredo Christlieb Ibarrola award, was presented to Mr. Chuck Oliveros from Williams Diesel Service in Ocala, Florida. The Technician of the Year award went to Jesus Trigos Rodrigues from Elecrto Diesel de Toluca, in Toluca, Mexico. In addition, a recognition award was given to Ricardo Berrueta for all his work as Convention Committee Chair of the Latin American Meeting Group.

The evening continued with a Mariachi band and other festivities concluding around 11:00 p.m. We wish to thank all those in attendance, especially all the presenters and exhibitors. The next Latin American Regional will be in 2018, the location and dates have not been finalized as of this time.

General Motors, DMAX, Ltd., and I.U.E.-CWA Local 755 employees celebrated the build of the two millionth Duramax 6.6L V-8 turbo-diesel engine on March 24. Since the first engine rolled off the line in 2000, Duramax engines have won multiple awards and built a reputation for impressive power and durability. Today, DMAX makes the Duramax diesel engines for heavy-duty Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks. Duramax engines also power some military and marine applications and will be used in the upcoming Class 4/5 medium duty being developed by GM and Navistar.

The DMAX plant received an investment of $82M for productivity improvements in 2015 and $60M for emissions improvements in 2014. Employees are currently building the redesigned Duramax 6.6L V-8 turbo-diesel. This next-generation engine offers more horsepower and torque, an SAE-certified 445 hp (332 kW) at 2,800 rpm and 910 lb-ft of torque (1,234 Nm) at 1,600 rpm, to enable better confident hauling and trailering. Along with a 19% increase in max torque over the last Duramax 6.6L, the redesigned turbodiesel’s performance is quieter and smoother. It is also capable of running on B20 biodiesel. DMAX, Ltd. was established in 1998 and is owned 60% by GM and 40% by Isuzu.

AMBAC UpdateAMBAC. We’re BACK…Actually we never left. At AMBAC, we have been busy working all along, but you may not have noticed. Since the re-formation of AMBAC after the sale from United Technologies, AMBAC has had a primary focus on the legacy Military product that is still being used not just by the US Government, but in several countries all over the world. While this work continues today, in reality, we are growing new segments.

AMBAC is pleased to announce that we are taking steps to invest into the future of Diesel not only in the Americas, but worldwide. In addition to making ongoing substantial investments in modernizing our South Carolina facility with lean manufacturing, up-to-date CNC machining centers and a more robust Engineering department, we are readdressing the current marketplace as well as future opportunities that will benefit the ADS group. Although we currently have fuel systems development programs with multiple Diesel aircraft and other proprietary fuel injection programs, we are taking a few new steps.

Greg Arsenault has rejoined AMBAC as VP of Sales and Marketing. After spending time as the NE Regional Manager for Delphi, Perkins Engines, and in a host of

Aftermarket Diesel & Turbo capacities, Greg brings with him a vast knowledge of Product Management and will be launching our new programs.

AMBAC is in the process of releasing a comprehensive All Makes Diesel/Turbocharger program, which will offer New and/or Remanufactured components to include: • Pumps, both traditional and CR. • Injectors, both traditional Multihole, HEUI,EUI, as

well as CR. • Electronic control components such as

IDM,FICM,ECUs and associated systems sensors and components.

• A full range of both NEW and Reman Turbochargers, the first phase covering hundreds of applications for HD truck, Agricultural, and Industrial …. which are available right now.

We at AMBAC are excited to embrace these opportunities and look forward to expanding our product portfolio.

Vision We, the membership of The Association of Diesel Specialists, see ourselves as the leading international organization of professionals that provides sales and expert service for yesterday’s, today’s and tomorrow’s diesel systems.

Our goal is to be the complete resource for training, technical service information, member promotion and networking opportunities. Our Association encourages participation at all levels of membership and is operated with the highest level of fiscal integrity. We embrace the economical, durable and clean diesel engine as one of the key elements for addressing global pollution and fossil fuel depletion.

MissionThe Association of Diesel Specialists’s mission is to provide programs and services to its members that will assist them in achieving success in the operation of their businesses in the diesel industry throughout the world.

Green Statement The Association of Diesel Specialists (ADS) believes in the future of clean diesel as part of an environmental solution to global greenhouse gas issues. ADS believes in the future of the inherently more efficient clean diesel power plant as a method of reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. ADS applauds the work of engine manufacturers in their efforts to continuously reduce emissions in diesel engines to near infinitesimal levels. ADS believes that the use of clean diesel will improve the sustainability of consumers, businesses and communities by reducing the environmental and societal cost of their activities.

ADS does not condone the use of devices made to intentionally contravene emission controls for use in equipment or vehicles used on a regular basis. ADS believes that intentionally bypassing or altering emission controls in the name of performance enhancement undermines individual and group efforts to promote the use of clean diesel as a viable alternative power plant for the future.
