Matt's professionalism was outstanding! He was motivated from the beginning of the semester up until the end, with the goal of making this year's staff appreciation event the most successful one to date. His initiative with gathering input from students, creating to-do-lists and planning ahead of time were all evident during the day of the event, because it went smoothly with very little bumps along the way.

Explain your response for RESPONSIBILITY. *

Matt was responsible for almost all of the event and I did not have to step in to take over too many aspects, which was very refreshing. He asked a lot of questions during our meetings and took notes to ensure that he knew what he had to do for the upcoming week.

Matt was able to solve most problems on his own. I helped him logistically with a few details with the food arrival and clean up. I think one thing that could have gone better was the amount of time he gave himself to set up for the event. Even with getting help from two other student employees, we were still setting up right when the event was starting.

Based on the feedback that I received from our student employees, staff appreciation was an enjoyable event. In the survey that was sent out to all students, a few even mentioned Matt specifically saying he did an awesome job!

Explain your response for LEADERSHIP & INITIATIVE. *

My role in this year's staff appreciation was to help Matt understand how to plan the event. He showed excellent leadership during the event - there were many times that I asked him what he needed me to do. His initiative was also outstanding - he was well prepared up to the day of the event and had an outline of what supplies we needed to take outside. Another quality that I observed with Matt was his ability to take criticism. He tried very hard to create a design for our t-shirt this year, but I made the decision to use another design. He accepted the feedback well, which can be a hard thing to do.

Please list the goals that were set for this semester of practicum. Please explain whether or not the student met the goals. *

Matt wanted to receive an outstanding in his communication for this semester. For the most part his communication was excellent - we just had a couple of mis-communications.

I could tell when we first met to discuss the event that he was a little overwhelmed. I am hopeful that this experience helped him understand how to handle the stress of putting on an event, and the amount of time and preparation it takes to do so. This was an excellent experience for him to add to his resume. I appreciated his help and feedback with how to move forward in the years to come! Excellent job!
