The 2nd PRAGMA Institute The 2007 Southeast Asia International Joint Research and Training

Program in High-Performance Computing Applications and Networking Technology in conjunction with the 2nd PRAGMA Institute was held in NCHC during December 3-7, 2007.

NARL/NCHC have organized a special session for GEO Science on Dec. 5 in which the GEO Grid project at NARL was elaborated by the NARL's team. Dr. Ashraf Memon, UCSD was invited to introduce the GEON as well.

The participants were coming from the Southeast Asia countries including Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia.

The 2nd GEO Grid Workshop

The 2nd GEO Grid Workshop in conjunction with the "Discussion on Grid Computing and GEO Grid in Japan" co-organized by AIST and CICC were held on January 22-25, 2008 in Tokyo, Japan.

Totally 14 participants from nine southern Asia countries were invited to share the GEO Grid activities in their countries. Most of invited participants were from the GEO Science working group in PARGMA.

International Cooperation

AIST (Japan) incorporated with NSPO (Taiwan) have completed the satellite database federation system between Formosat-2 and ASTER.

Accomplishment/Progress It has been officially used by Water Resource Agency for Flood

Monitoring/Response & Decision Support; Counsel of Agriculture will follow up for Mudslide monitoring & decision making.
