Don’t forget…fill those CART buckets for Alzheimer’s Research! Play Rotobucks…..A fellow Rotarian won big bucks last week! You can too! We have 4 new Red Badge Members. Please seek them out and make them feel welcome at our meeting today!

Our speaker Jameson Gregg is no stranger to St. Simons Island. Now a resident of

Dahlonega, Georgia, Jameson lived on SSI for 18 years and was employed as an attorney

during that time at the firm of Gilbert, Harrell, Sumerford and Martin. But now, all of that has

changed.

Giving up his law books for a pen, Jameson is now living a life-long dream as a full-time

writer. His recent novel, Luck Be A Chicken, is set in Mississippi, a locale he knows well

since he is was born in Mississippi and is a graduate of the business school at Ole Miss, and

received his law degree at the Mississippi College School of Law.

Years back while a student, Jameson worked in a chicken processing plant. His comic novel

is set in a similar setting, complete with familiar characters he probably knew way back in the

good old days when he was the chicken plant’s iceman – whatever that is?

Jameson treated us to some of his quick wit and stories about his golf experiences which

caused him some serious embarrassment when hitting

poor golf shots off rooftops, windows and the sides of

houses along the Retreat course where he once lived

on St. Simons Island.

“I am now living on a writer’s salary,” he confessed.

“But loving every minute of it.” Jameson is a recent

nominee for Writer of the Year for the Georgia Writer’s

Association. The winner will be announced in May!

Good luck Jameson, and thanks for making our cold

February day a little sunnier with your humor!

Speaker Jameson Gregg, Marlene Gregg & Gary Schwartz
