Appointment of Vicar for Mount Maunganui Parish

Greetings and peace to you. It is my pleasure to announce that the Ven-erable Christine Scott has accepted my offer to the appointment as Vicar of the Parish of Mount Maunganui. Christne is currently the Vicar of the Parish of Otorohanga and Archdeacon of Wai-tomo in the Diocese of Waikato and Tara-kaki. Christine has held that role for around ten years and in that time has de-veloped a strong ministry committed to the local community. Christine has also held a number of roles in the wider Dio-cese on various boards and committees. Prior to moving to Otorohanga Christine was discerned and trained for ministry in Waiapu, having been a parishioner of our Cathedral (and a member of the Cathedral Choir) and then serving a curacy in the Par-ish of Rotorua. Christine will conclude her role in Oto-rohanga near the middle of September, with an installation service to be held in the last week of September. The details for that service will be publicised once the service has been finalised. I encourage you all to pray for Christine and for the Mt Maunganui parish during this time of transition and preparation for a new beginning for Christine, and the on-going mission of this parish. Yours in Christ +Andrew (The Right Reverend Andrew Hedge)

‘Praise @ 4:30’ St Augustine's, Riverbend Rd, Napier

Sunday 27th May 2018, 4.30pm Guest Speaker: Henare O'Keefe

‘Praise @ 4:30’ offers the message of God to people who sometimes need space from the formality of Anglican Sunday morning communion. It’s based around singing some songs of praises, offering impromptu time for people to talk about their blessings, and having an inspired 10-15 minute reflec-tion before a pot-luck supper. All welcome.

Ecumenical Pentecost Service – for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity The Napier Inner-City Covenanted Churches welcome you to this annual service towards unity. The international theme, set for 2018 by the churches of the Caribbean, is ‘that all may be free’, a reflection on historical and contemporary slavery. This year the service is hosted by:

Trinity Methodist Church, Clive Square, Napier, on Thursday 24 May at 7:00pm.

Gospel Vespers with the Napier Gospel Choir

(director Ross Browning) Trinity Sunday – 27 May 2018 – 7pm

at Trinity Methodist Church, Clive Square East, Napier.

Free event (donations invited for ‘Let the Children Live’ project).

Gospel music is a close relative to Blues and Jazz, and so the home of Napier’s Jazz Vespers is pleased to welcome a special Gospel Vespers ... containing elements of a concert and a worship service, it borrows elements from both of those things, but at its core Vespers really offers reflection through music.
