LUNCHTIME & AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS FOR THE SUMMER TERM 2019If your child wishes to attend Lunchtime and/or After School Clubs for the Summer Term 2019, you need to click on the link which has been emailed to you along with this brochure. The online booking form will give you the option to book the clubs which are listed here.

Please note that by using our online booking form you are notifying us of the clubs you wish your child to attend. All clubs have a minimum and maximum number of spaces. Should minimum numbers not be reached the club will unfortunately not take place. Should the maximum number be reached, allocation will be made on a first-come-first-served basis and a waiting list will be created. You will be notified of the clubs allocated before the start of next term. Should you be unsuccessful, we will advise you of other clubs with availability on the same day. Children attending clubs that commence at or after 15:45 will be provided with a snack. If your child is allocated a place in a club it is expected that they will attend each week for the whole term, and you will be charged accordingly.

If your child wishes to attend Chess, Football, or Multi-Sports, your details will be given to the provider who will then contact you regarding the club. He or she will invoice you directly, with the exception of Multi-Sports and Football which, together with clubs run by School staff, will be billed directly by the School.

Clubs should be booked by MONDAY 1st APRIL 2019Confirmation that your child has been allocated a place in their requested club(s) for the Summer Term will be sent to you via email as soon as possible after the deadline. Lunchtime and After School Clubs will run from Monday 29th April up to and including Friday 28th June (8 weeks). Summer Half Term is one week commencing Monday 27th May.

Please note that details of our Wraparound Care provision, including Breakfast Club, can be found in our Wraparound Care brochure which is available separately.

DESCRIPTION OF CLUBS

Chess For players of all abilities, chess teaches children many fundamentals like problem solving, focus and patience. Chess Club ranges from an introduction to the game to advanced strategies – a fun activity to share with friends.

Choir – Morning Morning Choir Club explores different styles and songs, often singing in two or three parts. Following fun warm up games, we explore songs, some simple, some more complex, with the opportunity to perform in School concerts and Services. The Morning Choir gives an additional opportunity for those committed to singing, who want to sing together, to enjoy learning new melodies and to work exclusively on their voices.

Choir – Lunch Lunch Choir Club gives an opportunity for those who would like to do something a little bit different at lunchtime. This is an opportunity to take part in songs and musical games, with the chance to perform in such events as the Carol Service and the summer play. This is a drop-in club and no prior booking will be required.

Cookery Cookery Club is an excellent way to learn basic life skills while exploring your child’s culinary creativity. The club is great fun and helps educate your child on food and food hygiene. It teaches them how to cook the most delicious things, which you may have the opportunity to sample. You never know, your child could turn out to be a budding master chef!

Football Friday Football Club is our traditional way to close the week, which gives your child the extra time to hone footballing skills to become the next Harry Kane or Mo Salah! A chance to have some fun and enjoy team games.

Gardening Gardening Club allows your child extra time accessing the kitchen garden, learning how to plant and nurture flowers and vegetables that will be enjoyed around the school – including the lunch hall. Your child will also learn how to handle garden tools safely as well as take pride and pleasure watching their plants grow through to harvesting. There is always something to plant or plan for during the year so Gardening Club will run over all three terms, moving inside during the darker, colder months.

Instrumental lessons Individual violin, guitar or piano lessons can be taken in school. The benefits of learning an instrument include improved co-ordination, memory and listening skills. Your child will have the opportunity to play in concerts, enhancing confidence and presentation skills. Lessons will take place on the same day each week with a rotating timetable to minimise the impact on classroom learning or break time. Please do not sign up again if your child is already taking lessons (half a term’s notice of cessation being required).

Multi-Sports Multi-Sports Club will engage your child in a range of games over the term – from “Invasion” to more traditional sports – all developing sporting skills to improve movement and co-ordination.

Puzzles & Games Puzzles and Games will include physical games (pirates, shark attack etc.), board games (Scrabble, Ludo etc.), construction puzzles (Lego, Mobilo etc.), mental problems (word searches, crosswords etc.) and the children will be also be able to create their own puzzles such as Snakes and Ladders etc.
