Map: Race map (size 69x74 cm) is printed on Tyvek, no extra waterproofing needed; map for planning is printed
on regular paper and marked with a stamp “FOR PLANNING ONLY”.
Scale: 1:27 000; H: 4m; 83 checkpoints on map. Values 2-10. Total value of points: 478.
Legend on the map is in English only. Legend for printout (.pdf) is on the competition website in English, Latvian
and Russian.
Protests and Jury
Protests about the race results will be accepted within 45 minutes after the closing of the corresponding finish.
Any protests are reviewed and decision taken by a three person jury:
1) Lauri Leppik (Estonia),
2) Oleg Kalinin (Russia),
3) Ilze Lapina (Latvia)
Mandatory equipment
Mandatory equipment items for each participant competing in the 24hour event:
- SI card with a non-removable wristband;
- visibly attached competition number bib;
- whistle (attached to clothes in the chest/shoulder area; to be produced to the referee at the entrance to the
start area);
-GPS tracking device(one for the team, to be provided by the organiser).
Competition area:
Nature protection board informs that the rogaine is taking place in an area with limited access to especially
protected nature areas – Milzkalns nature Park and Ķemeri National park, therefore prohibited areas marked in
red on the map should be respected. Crossing is NOT ALLOWED!
There will not be any traffic restrictions during the race, therefore the competitors are responsible for own safety on the road and should follow the road safety rules. Freshly cut unmapped clearings are possible. There could be some forest work in progress.
Do not drop empty gel tubes, food wrapping or any other waste while on the course! There will be a trash-bag for this type of waste next to each water drop.
Please note: the out-of-bounds areas (crossing prohibited) may look like this on the map:

Exception: areas represented on the map as cultivated areas may be crossed only when harvested and not fenced if it happens to be a pasture. In the race area there are 9 water drops with water and salt (separate container). Water drops are designed for
replenishing water supplies in participants’ containers or water bags. There will not be any glasses or cups.
Please take along your individual cup. Please, do not use the water at water drops to cool yourself down!

At the entry to the Event Centre EVERYBODY (competitors, accompanying persons, guests etc.) will have to fill out,
sign and submit to the Organiser’s representative a Statement. You can print out the form from the website
(Competition info-Documents) and fill it out in advance.
The Organiser’s medical professional in charge will assess what has been stated and depending on this do one
of the following:
1) If a person, according to the effective regulations in Latvia, is subject to self-isolation and is not able to
produce a negative result of a COVID-19 test performed in Latvia during the past 5 days, he/she will be referred
to a mobile testing station t located at the Event Centre. Working hours of the testing station are 12.00-17.00
on Thursday, 20 August, and 10.00-16.00 on Friday, 21 August (slight adjustments are possible if the organisers
are notified in advance on the need to extend the working hours).
The persons will be admitted to the Event Centre after their test sample has been taken. The price of the test is
EUR 59 (to be paid in cash).
2) If a person is not subject to self-isolation, he/she will be admitted directly to the Event Centre.
Car access to the Event Centre is only with car passes issued by the organisers (for service vehicles, organisers,
24h rogainers and eligible supporters).
Each person driving or walking into the Event Centre will be given a single-use face mask, to be worn till he/she
has completed the registration as well as in situations when keeping distance from others is not possible.
Event Centre:
Please park the cars as arranged by the organiser: in short time parking lot (for 6h rogaine) or long time parking
lot (for 24h rogaine). Follow the directions of the organisers.
Event Centre is located in the open area of Recreation facility “Milzkalns”. There will be the following facilities at the Event Centre: Information Desk, indoor and outdoor WC, indoor and outdoor showers, mobile phone charging point, tent area, designated cooking area (on own gas cookers), catering/course planning tent. Registration, hand-out of maps, announcing of the results and awards ceremony will take place outdoors. Storage for keys and other personal belongings as well as first aid will be provided.
For your convenience, there will be a café (open on 20 August 17.00-20.00, on 21 August 9.00-20.00, payment in cash) and stalls selling sports foods (sport drinks, gels), sports clothing and accessories.
Hash House is located at the Competition Centre. Hash House is open from 20.00 on 22 August till 10.00 on 23 August.
When proceeding to Registration, everybody should wear a face mask.
After the registration the participants will get the team envelope with souvenirs for every team member, number bibs, safety pins, SIAC, wristbands, promotional material and wristbands for after-finish catering. Before receiving the envelope, the team shall submit the Declaration of Responsibility signed by all team members. In case a person is subject to self-isolation, he/she shall submit a signed Statement (self-isolation requirement) and a proof of negative result of COVID-19 diagnostics test no older than 72 hours before arriving to Latvia. Outstanding payments, if any, have to be settled upon registration (in cash only). All registered teams will be admitted to start.
Course planning
There is one set of maps for the whole team. To avoid crowding, the map rolls will be placed on sticks and
grouped according to the number of team members (for 2-member teams and for 3- member teams). Only one
team member shall arrive to collect the set. In proof that the team has been registered, he/she should wear a
well visible number bib. The set of maps includes: a map for each member of the team printed on Tyvek, plus
one map for planning (printed on regular paper), which must be submitted before entering the start area.
Course planning is not allowed in the rooms of the hotel located at the Event Centre as well as beyond the
check-point at the entrance. After maps have been distributed, entering the hotel rooms and the area beyond
the check-point is allowed only without maps (should be left in care of team members or referees).
The start
The entrance to the start area opens at 11.30; access is via corridors according to a team’s number.
Upon entering the start area (the whole team together) the competitors shall:
1) activate their SIAC cards at SIAC ON,
2) submit the planning map;
3) produce to the referee the number bibs, SIAC cards attached to the wrists with designated wristband,
whistles, a sealed bag (provided by organisers) with prohibited devices (if none, a mark will be put on the
number bibs),
4) Receive the GPS device and place it on the upper arm,
5) Check the SIAC Air operation at the Test Station
Having completed the pre-start routines, the team shall proceed to the start area and shall take a position next
to one of the sticks.
The team has to read out its result till the closing time of the corresponding finish.
Participants shall attach their SIAC cards by themselves. See the pictures below:
It is not allowed to apply tape on the SIAC wristband.
Checkpoints will be set on contactless mode (0.3 m (30 cm) from station)!
Attention: It is possible that the first rogainer arriving at a checkpoint may have to “wake up” it for activating the contactless mode. All members of a team should punch the checkpoint within 1 minute.

During the competition we shall set up a blog for commenting the progress of teams. Also, GPS tracking of all
24h teams will be made public. The links will be announced within 1 hour after the launch of the competition.
