All directed activities that Winchester City Mill offers have been

checked for safety through a full risk assessment (included on page 5).

As a result, appropriate measures are in place to effectively manage the

identified risks.

However, group leaders are expected to carry out their own risk

assessment prior to their visit. All pre-booked educational trips are

entitled to a free pre- visit; a useful way to prepare for your time with

Exploring Winchester

OUTLINE OF A TYPICAL VISIT

The River Itchen You can walk close to the river in many places and see more of the wildlife.

Winchester Cathedral There’s so much to see here. One of the best ways to explore is with a tour. Hear about Winchester during Anglo-Saxon times and what changed when the Normans invaded, and the many characters and events that have shaped the history of England and left their mark on this magnificent building.

Winnall Moors Nature Reserve Explore the moors and wind your way through the fen and riversides discovering the wildlife that flourishes there.

City Museum With free admission, three galleries tell the story of Winchester's past from the Iron Age to the present. Features include mosaics and reconstructed Victorian High Street shops.

The Great Hall Experience one of the finest surviving medieval halls, which contains the legendary Round Table, and the medieval gardens.
