Located in Brisbane, Aviation Australia’s internationally recognised aircraft maintenance engineering courses offer a study pathway to a career in international aviation.
Aviation Australia are an approved European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 147 Training Organisation which allows us to deliver basic category training - Mechanical (TB1) and Avionics (TB2) courses - significantly reducing the timeframe for licensing.
We are also approved by EASA to conduct the theory exams for EASA modules, meaning that students who have passed these exams with Aviation Australia do not need to sit these exams again before applying for an EASA licence (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer). Aviation Australia students learn real skills on real aircraft in our European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved Part 147 training facility. Our on campus fleet of aircraft includes a Fokker 28 jet, a Boeing 727 jet, a Piper Navajo and two Beechcraft King Air.

Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering entry requirementsAge: 18 years or over (Students who are aged 17 are subject to guardianship conditions) Academic: Recognised educational qualifications equivalent to Australian High School Year 12 with acceptable passes in Maths and Physics and/or Science subjects. English: Academic IELTS score of 5.5 with no band score below 5.0 or certification from an approved English language pathway programme.

This diploma course is a pathway to an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence or a Bachelor of Business (Aircraft Maintenance Management). Internationally recognised qualifications On successful completion of the EASA approved course, students will have completed all necessary theory and practical tasks, required by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), to qualify for a basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence. Students will still need to complete a minimum of two years industry work experience before being eligible to apply to EASA for a licence.

CRICOS COURSE CODE - 073242M | CRICOS REGISTRATION - 95 WEEKS Mechanical Diploma students learn the skills to maintain jet engines, brake and undercarriage systems, structural components, cabin pressurisation, fuel and pneumatic components, flight controls, hydraulics and much more.

Avionics Diploma students study the computers, avionics and electrical control systems within an aircraft as well as the repair and maintenance processes that apply to these systems 30919QLD Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering - Mechanical (TB1) plus 30916QLD Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering - Avionics (TB2) Approximately 29 months duration CRICOS COURSE CODE - 073242M/ 073243K
This option allows students to complete both the Diploma Mechanical (TB1) and the Diploma Avionics (TB2). A student will meet the licensing requirement for only one category of licence, either Category TB1 or Category TB2.
Bachelor of Business Degree (Aircraft Maintenance Management) Two years durationSuccessful Diploma graduates have the option of undertaking a Bachelor of Business qualification with the University of Southern Queensland. Students will receive a one year (eight units) credit towards the three year degree, allowing completion in two years.
