Ceetak Ltd is a leading UK designer, developer and supplier of seals and sealing solutions.Established for over 40 years, and part of the Ceetak Holdings Group, our Head Office is based in Bedford, England.

Our products and sealing systems are used throughout all major industries; from the most technically demanding applications through to high quality, high volume precision components.

Ceetak’s team of Sales, Project and Application Engineers are able to assist in the design of seals for all applications, and our Engineers fully understand the variety of technical challenges when designing and manufacturing components for critical conditions.

Quality Assurance

In order to meet the required standards and approvals demanded by our customers, strict quality procedures are maintained at all stages of our design service, development and manufacturing process. We are ISO9001:2008 and ISO14001:2004 approved, with our manufacturing partners approved to TS16949:2009 and ISO13485.

Our in-house test facilities included non-contact parts measurement, specific gravity testing, material hardness testing and tensile strength testing. We also have access to external laboratory testing available for any specially developed materials. Ceetak’s dedicated team of Quality Engineers and Quality Inspectors ensure that advanced product quality planning is at the heart of our quality function.

Their fundamental activities include; mitigation of risk during all manufacturing processes, anticipating potential risks, regular review of process controls and stability, PPAP review, continuous monitoring of production SPC data, regular audits of manufacturing facilities and monthly manufacturing performance monitoring.

We regularly challenge our manufacturing facilities for continuous improvements to processes including; follow up-audits to ensure implementation of adequate prevention measures to avoid repeat issues, analysis and review of similar products to prevent future issues, effective root cause analysis and preventative actions review.

Our stringent quality principles and proactive controls mean our customers have reduced claims and associated costs, increased change control and prevention of productivity loss and line-stops.

Depending on each individual customer project, we can provide a variety of supporting documents to meet our customers quality requirements. These include First Article Inspection (FAI) paperwork as standard and material test data and analysis certification upon request. We can also provide extensive PPAP documentation.

Engineering Design and Product Development

While elastomeric “gasket” can describe a relatively simple shape punched out of rubber sheet, Ceetak specialise in precision gaskets that are designed and moulded specifically for detailed and critical groove requirements.

We provide unrivalled technical and engineering support to ensure our customers benefit from the best possible seal performance at optimum cost. We are dedicated to providing a complete design service; from initial seal geometry and profile choice, to material selection and housing surface finish recommendations, through to prototyping and final production.

Our Application Engineers utilise years of seal design experience to provide our customers with the most cost effective sealing solution for each bespoke application. They use their technical expertise with groove fill calculations and materials experience, alongside technology such as 2D/3D CAD and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) programs to simulate performance before finalising each individual seal design.

After the initial design stage, we can also provide a rapid prototyping service by 3D printing our proposed seal designs for fit for purpose testing in customer housings to further support the information provided by our FEA analysis. We can even investigate as in-depth as suggesting adjustments to the design of customer housings to improve seal performance or initiate cost-downs of hardware if the project allows.

Once a design is finalised we have the knowledge and expertise to determine the best tool design for manufacture of parts. This can be crucial with large, intricate gasket designs to ensure that expensive tool space is not wasted and to ensure maximum lifts are achieved from each production run whilst still maintaining tool costs within a cost effective budget (serpentine moulds).

Ceetak Ltd have a wide range of base elastomer compounds available in varying shore hardnesses, for example:

Depending on the application parameters or the industry involved, we can offer these materials with special approvals. For example, WRAS approval for the water industry, NORSOK M710 for the oil and gas industry and ISO10993 for the Life Sciences industry.

We can also develop our base materials to meet particular ASTM or ISO call-out requirements, or individual customer specifications such as chemical/fluid testing or compressive stress relaxation duration tests. Any testing program that is a prerequisite to meet internal customer engineering and quality systems can be catered for.

Alongside our elastomer materials we have the capability to manufacture composite, edge bonded sealing components. We use engineered plastics such as Polybutylene Succinate (PBS) high performance Polyamide (PPA) and Nylon (PA) as well as metals such as aluminium, brass and grades of mild and stainless steel to bond with our elastomers to create a complete sealing system.

This allows our customers to benefit from reduced inventory (as one component is used in the place of numerous seals), to potentially reduce housing machining costs (composite gaskets can be used between two flat faces and complicated groove machining is not required) and to reduce assembly and build costs.
