Preliminary Portfolio Evaluation Form
Instructions Prospective applicants must submit a Preview Portfolio of at least 12 pieces of creative work. Artwork must be drawn from direct observation (not from photographic reference). The portfolio must include: • Three life drawings (at least two long poses) • Two drawings of hands—life-size, tonal studies • Three realistic still life studies in full color • Two additional examples of realistic drawing or painting • One vector computer graphic image (Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, etc.) • One raster computer graphic image (Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter, etc.)
We no longer accept 35mm slide portfolios. We accept only digital portfolios (Please see instructions on page 2 of this form).

The following digital requirements apply to submission of the preliminary portfolio for application to the Medical Illustration Graduate Program at the Medical College of Georgia:
• Individual images should be no larger than 10” wide or 7.5” high
• We prefer a resolution of 288 pixels (dots) per inch. The minimum acceptable resolution is 72 pixels per inch.
• All digital images, whether the original was created in black and white or in color, should be saved in RGB color mode, preferably Adobe RGB 1998.
• The following image file formats are acceptable: AI, JPEG, TIFF, PDF, PNG and PSD. Please send only flattened (non-layered) files.
• Submission of a presentation file is permissible; however, please do not include any custom slide animation or slide transition effects. The following formats can be accepted: PowerPoint (PC or Mac) and Keynote.
• Submission of a Website is permissible; however, please do not send a URL, instead send a copy of your Website on a CD or DVD.
• Submission of short animations is permissible. Please send only flattened (non-layered), rendered files. Frame size should not be larger than 640-pixels wide x 480-pixels tall. The following formats can be accepted:
SWF (Flash) QuickTime (MOV) Windows Media (WMV) MPEG GIF
• We will not accept portfoios without a hard copy—submissions should be delivered on either a CD or a DVD.
• Please also include on the CD or DVD a ReadMe file (DOC, TXT or PDF file format) version of page 1 of the Preliminary Portfolio Evaluation Form.
• Please only submit a single, complete preliminary portfolio—DO NOT SUBMIT your portfolio in sections!
