We decided to go with a school/college theme and use some idea from Waterloo Road.

We thought that because we were in a college it would be easy to film and we already had to consent.

We liked waterloo road because it addresses real issues.

We didn't take a storyline straight from the show, but we took a few different ones to build a brand new one.

How I used Adobe Premiere Elements

To start I had to get all our video clips from our camera ready to edit. To do this you click organise, get media and then from PC files

I then gathered all my clips at the bottom on the time line and started to cut the bits of the scene i didn't need.

To make sure each scene cut smoothly to the next one , I added some transitions.

I then added a song into my trailer and used the audio tool at the side to make it go quieter when people were talking.

How I uploaded to YouTube and my blog

This is how I uploaded my video to YouTube. I found this way allot quicker than doing it through the website.

Even though I have never used a blog before I found it fairly easy to upload videos by using a HTML.

My final product- Nangreave Road

My establishing shot was of the road sign. This is a soap convention as most soaps are set in a small village or a particular road.

This worked well as it set the scene for the audience.

When filming, our group decided that we would use over the shoulder shots as this is a common shot type in a TV Soap. We also stuck to medium close ups as these again are usually used in soaps.

We chose a storyline which is common in soap operas and isn’t to dramatic. We decided to do this because then the audience can relate to the storyline. We also showed friends falling out and arguments that occur in everyday life. This makes it more realistic and the audience would believe its real.

What would I improve•We filmed all our scenes in college so if I was to do it again I would try different settings and locations to create different narratives because they audience may become bored with the same story.

• The transactions between each shot didn’t come out as I hoped, so I would spend more time fixing these problems.

•The quality of some of the shots are not great but I don't think it was the camera, so I would try to find out the problem and make sure it doesn't happen again.
