JANE STANLEY Manager, Private Collection in Barnstaple, Devon“Marella is doing fantastically, mainly big chunky knitwear (retailing at £129) and outerwear (£399 reduced to £199). Pinko is another great seller; really different with lots of funky padded jackets (£199).”

ROZ CLARKE Owner, Roz Clarke in Windsor“Sarah Pacini knits (£170) have been performing well in the Sale. Our Lilith dresses are all 20% to 50% off, with an average discounted price of £200, so that brand has been popular too. Knitwear from Duffy is on Sale and has been selling well, with cashmere pieces reduced from £225 to £155.”

LUCY WILKINS Manager, Weekend in Sherborne, Dorset“Our Sale knitwear has been doing really well, from big warm chunky pieces to finer knits for layering. Gant has been popular, with Sale prices ranging from £70 to £200. Gerard Darel and Marella are also in demand, both ranging from £150 to £300.”

BECKY KINGSLEY Manager, Ginger in Norwich“Dresses from Diane von Furstenberg have been flying out, with Sale prices ranging from £290 to £390. We’re also selling a lot of Armani Jeans (£130). A 30% discount on Marella coats is proving very popular (£290 to £400) too.”

DEBORAH GARNETT Owner, The Clothes Room in Harrogate, North Yorkshire“Joseph outerwear has been doing quite well for us, especially the padded styles which range from £400 to £600 in the Sale. Nicole Farhi blouses and knits are selling strongly, as are knits from Lamberto Losani, with both down to around £200 in the Sale.”

ALBY THOMPSON Manager, I Gigi in Hove, East Sussex“We’re currently offering a 35% discount on our Sale stock, so we’re selling strongly across the board. Knitwear from Humanoid (£140) is flying out, as are Oska coats (£200) and boots from H by Hudson (£120).”

LORRAINE FOOT Manager, Jessimara in Golders Green, London“Parkas from Parajumpers (£745) are great for the winter, and our sheepskins and furs (£500 to £1,500) are doing well too. Jersey T-shirts from Velvet and Splendid (from £50 to £90) are also strong.”

SARAH BLACK Sales manager, The Cross in Holland Park, London“Our customer is starting to shop for the new season. Cashmere sweaters (£365) from the Chinti and Parker pre-spring 14 collection are already very popular. Dosa holiday pieces like silk slips, kaftans and camis (£160) are selling, as are cashmere sweaters and cardigans (£300 to £500) from English Weather.”

JACOB QUAGLIOZZI Manager, David Copperfield in St Albans“We’re selling loads of knitwear from Paul Smith, with merino styles (£120) in particular demand, and denim is starting to pick up (£105). Ralph Lauren polo shirts (£75) are selling all day long as usual, as are Nudie jeans (£95).”

NOELEEN HOWARD Manager, Ken Young International Fashions in Coleraine, Northern Ireland“Boss Black has been doing great, with discounted suits going for around £420. Denim is popular across the board, in particular styles from Boss Orange (£100) and Tommy Hilfiger (£120).”

LOUIS COPELAND Owner, Louis Copeland in Dublin“Suits (£830 to £1,000) and jackets (£660 to £740) from Canali are strong sellers, as are our own brand Louis Copeland suits (£430 to £660) and shirts (£80 to £110). Classic Barbour jackets (£150) are also being snapped up.”

PHILIP BROWNE Owner, Philip Browne in Norwich“We’re doing very well with Barbour jackets. The Commander jacket (£400) is proving popular, but we’re shifting a lot of Sale jackets too (£130 to £250). We’re selling a lot of Diesel jeans on Sale (£65 to £100), and Vivienne Westwood T-shirts (from £50).”

JAMES JONES Manager, Robinsons of Bawtry, South Yorkshire“Spring 14 Armani Collezioni is working for us, with knitwear pieces (£200) and jeans (£210) flying out. Similar styles from Boss Black are also strong sellers, with jeans at £110 and knitwear around £90. Ralph Lauren shirts (£95) and knitwear (£120) are also popular.”

TONY SMITH Manager, Dartagnan in Chichester, West Sussex“Vivienne Westwood shirting (£215 reduced to £150) is doing amazingly, as are blazers (£1,000 reduced to £600). We’ve also been selling a lot of Stone Island, with outerwear reduced from £600 to £400, and knitwear at around £130.”

NIGEL CLARE Owner, Nigel Clare in Chorley, Lancashire“Ralph Lauren is doing great across the board, with knitwear (£125) and shirts (£95) in particular demand. Armani Jeans (£120 for jeans) has been absolutely flying out, as are Vivienne Westwood shirts (£180).”

DOMINIC RILEY Manager, Riley’s in Beverley, East Yorkshire“Chunky knitwear styles from Vivienne Westwood (up to £385) are top sellers. We’ve also moved a lot of Moschino shirts (£160) and sweatshirts (£250). In terms of formalwear, Oliver Spencer blazers have been particularly strong (£320 to £400).”
