Introduction of Workshop:
The digital India Program is a flagship Program of Government of
India, with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered and
knowledge society. Digital resources are truly accessible when they are
easily available everywhere and for everyone.
Digital content, also known as e-resources includes all kinds of
content created and delivered through various electronic media. A well
developed e-content based on the different School and College Subjects can
help to teach the School subjects effectively to the learners and hence
improving teaching learning environment.
Basic purposes of the workshop were-
1. To make aware about the importance of e-resources in digital era.
2. To develop and create the e-resources in various school and college
subjects.
3. To explain the process of e-content development.
4. To make aware the School teachers, college teachers and teacher
educators regarding free and open education resources.
5. To create awareness about netiquettes.
Keeping into consideration the above purposes department of Teacher
Education, N.A.S College organized seven days national workshop on the
topic ‘Preparation of e-Resources for School and College Subjects’ from
23rd -29th March, 2018.
To meet the above purposes and to have hands-on experiences the
participants of the workshop brought their Laptops for all seven days and
they actively participated in developing e-resources for their respective
subject content.
It is well known fact that widespread sharing and dissemination of
digital content will promote infusion of ICT into classroom practice. Suitable
open standards for interoperability, web based sharing and appropriate

norms for free access was discussed to defined and catalyse use of digital
content and resources.
National level organisations like Central Institute of Educational Technology
(CIET), National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and State level
organisations like State Institutes of Educational Technology (SIETs) are
playing a proactive role in developing and sharing of digital content and its
source code to support wide scale adaptations.

Government of India to help ICT integrate in education and reap its benefits
for improving learning;

These programmes was very well discussed in the workshop as it was
committed to provide best training and learning opportunity for teachers
and teacher-educators to cater the diverse needs of the students and
education system. Hopefully this endeavour of Department of Education,
NAS (PG) College, Meerut will enable the participants to cope up with the
latest development of ICT in Education.
Day One: 23rd March, 2018
The formal inauguration was started with lighting the lamp and Floral
Tribute to Goddess Saraswati. The Chief Guest of the Inaugural Session was
Prof. J.S. Rajput, Former Director NCERT & Chairperson NCTE, New Delhi
The president of the session was Prof. N.K. Taneja, V.C. CCS University,
Meerut. The key note speaker was Prof. P.K. Mishra, Dean Faculty of
Education, C.C.S. University Meerut, Other Special guest were Mr. Amit
Sharma, secretary, N.A.S. College Meerut, Dr. Rajeev Kumar, Regional
Higher Education Officer Meerut, Dr. V.P. Rakesh, Principal, N.A.S. (PG)
College, Meerut, The convener of workshop was Dr. Shikha Chaturvedi,
Head of Department of Education, N.A.S. College Meerut. The teachers,
teacher educators and students from different universities and colleges
participated in the workshop.
The programme was started by the welcome speech of Dr. Shikha
Chaturvedi, who gave details description of Seven Day National Workshop
on ‘Preparation of e-Resources for School and College Subjects’
sponsored by Government of Uttar Pradesh. She shared her views about the
quality education and the role of a teacher as well as the multimedia in
imparting quality education. After the deliberation by Dr. Chaturvedi, all the
dignitaries delivered their enlighten views on Seven Days National workshop.
After completion of formal inauguration of the programme, the technical
sessions were started.

The first technical session was started with the lecture of the resource
person, Dr. Surendra Pal, Associate Professor, Department of Teacher
Education D.A.V. (P.G.) College Muzaffarnagar, U.P. He shared lot of
information regarding awareness and general applications of ICT in
Education. He explained, in very simple manner, about how we can prepare
effective power point presentation for making teaching-learning process
more effective. He also gave key concepts of function key of laptop & how to
crop the images so as to make them usable in the presentation.

The second technical session was started with the lecture delivery of
the resource person, Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Associate Professor, C.S.S.S.P.G.
College Machhra, Meerut, U.P. He shared some technical information for
preparation of slide presentation in various subjects.
The day one was ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Shikha

Day Two: 24th March, 2018
The first technical session was began with the discussion on Digital
Story by Dr. Indu Kumar, Head, CIET, NCERT, New Delhi. She explained
various kinds of digital stories like text, video, audio, narration, music,
images, graphics etc. A digital story can be any one of this kind or a
combination of more than one. She said that a digital story should be very
attractive and interesting so that it can grab the attention of the students.
For a teacher, a digital story should not only be a creative media, it should
also have a creative meaning. She discussed about various forms of Digital
Stories for different age groups and for different school subjects.

In second technical session, Dr. Indu Kumar explained the Google
tools for mind mapping like Free Plane, Free Map, Free Mind etc. Using
these tools mind map of any lesson can be made and saved on a computer.
Hyperlinks can also be added to these mind maps.
Then she gave a visual presentation showing various examples of Digital
Stories. She also discussed the challenges faced by our country regarding
digital education. She also discussed about the role of teacher in

storytelling, a sequence of steps to be followed before creating a Digital
Story.
The third technical session was started with the lecture of Dr. Manju
Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Education, Meerut College
Meerut U.P. on Use of Multimedia in Education. She explained various type
of element of multimedia and gave some visual presentation of multimedia.

Day Three: 25th March, 2018
On third day of the workshop first and second technical session were
taken by Dr. Ravindra Kumar, Assistant Professor, School of Education,
Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, Bihar. He discussed on
Development of e-Resources through online ICT Tools and Applications. In
his lecture he discussed various kinds of online software for creation of e-
content i.e. H5P. J.S. Timeline, Powtoon etc. Then he gave a live
presentation on developing the e-content using the online ICT tools and

software. He also explained various software’s like H5P, JS Timeline, Flickr,
etc. which can be used for developing an e-content or e-resources.
Dr. Kumar also discussed various websites like Google, Bing, etc. from
where the images can be downloaded. He also introduced various mobile
apps to the participants which are useful to a common man for his daily
activities as well as for security purpose. In the third technical session Dr.
Kumar gave a task to the participants to prepare an e-content using
PowToon and JS Timeline and the participants prepared their own e-
content.

Day Four: 26th March, 2018
The first technical session of day four was started with the lecture of Dr.
Awadhesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Computer Science Section, MMV,
BHU, Varanasi. He gave a presentation on Educational e-Content Creation

Software. He also gave the presentation on the various Google Input Tools
and Software that can be used for creation of e-Resource at school and
college level.

The second technical session was started with the lecture of Dr.
Ravindra Kumar, Assistant Professor, School of Education, Central
University of South Bihar Gaya. He further discussed on Development of e-
Resources through offline ICT Tools and Applications. He explained various
kinds of ICT offline tools and software that are helpful in creation of e-
content i.e. snipping tool, bookmarking, presentation tube, open shot editor
etc. Then he gave a live presentation on developing the e-content using
various offline software. At the end of the session, Dr. Kumar gave a task to
the participants to prepare an e-content using Presentation Tube.
The third technical session was started with Dr. Ravindra Kumar, Dr.
Awadhesh Kumar & Dr. Rajive Kumar on ‘Hands on Experiences:
Development of e-Resources through Offline ICT Tools and Applications’. In
this participants work on preparing their e-content with offline tools.

Day Five: 27th March, 2018
In the first technical session was started with very thoughtful lecture
of Dr. Vijay Shankar Sharma, D.S.M. Rehabilitation University, Lucknow.
He gave his presentation on ‘Assistive Technology’. In this he discussed
various tools that can be used for children with special needs.

Dr. Ravindra Kumar started the second technical session with his
discussion on ‘Computer Assisted Instructions’. He said that the scientific
principles of physical science and behavioural science which are used to
achieve some specific or/and terminal objectives of teaching, training and

instruction are called Educational Technology and Learning is the output of
these objectives. He also emphasize on interactive process of teaching.
Dr. Kumar said that when a student uses a computer instruction in the
process of learning, it is called a Computer Assisted Instruction. Later, he
explained various CAI packages consisting of Games/Simulation categories,
i.e. (i) Eye-Hand Coordination (EHC), (ii) Figure Ground Perception (FGP),
(iii) Figure Constancy (FC), (iv) Position-in-Space (PS), (v) Special Relation
(SR), (vi) Auditory Perception (AP), (viii) Cognitive Abilities (CA), (vii) memory
(M), (ix) Receptive Language (RL) & (x) Expressive Language. These are the
games that help the child to develop the co-ordination between various
sense organs and also body parts like hands and fingers. He also explained
the terms Hardware, Software and Courseware.

The third technical session was started with Dr. Chinmayee
Chaturvedi, Associate Professor, NAS, College Meerut U.P. on ‘Professional
Development of Teacher through ICT’. Dr. Chaturvedi explained various
methods and techniques for professional development of teacher.
The day fifth was ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Suchitra Devi,
Associate Professor, Department of Education, NAS College Meerut.

Day Six: 28th March, 2018
The first technical session was started with the lecture of Dr. Avadhesh
Kumar, Computer Science Section, MMV, BHU, Varanasi. He gave his
presentation on ICT tools for Educational Assessment. He also discussed
various ICT tools for educational assessment and management at school
and college level.

In the second technical session was started with Prof. Rekha Agrawal,
Head & Dean, School of Education, Central University of South Bihar, Gaya.
Dr. Agrawal gave a presentation on ‘Innovative Practices through ICT
Applications’. He also gave the valuable information for integration of ICT in
education.
Dr. Avadhesh Kumar started the Third technical session with his
discussion on ‘ICT Tools for School Management’. He also said that teaching
should be an interactive process with the help of ICT tools which makes
teaching joyful and interesting.

Day Seven: 29th March, 2018
In the first technical session, the participants presented their e-
content which was prepared by them in the workshop with the help of
Dr. Ravindra Kumar and Dr. Awadesh Kumar Mishra giving Hands on Experiences through ICT Tools and Applications

various online and offline software ICT tools i.e. H5P. PowToon, JS.
Timeline, Presentation Tube, Open shot Editor etc. Each presentation was
followed by the expert comments of Dr. Ravindra Kumar and Dr. Awadesh
Kumar Mishra for the modification and improvement in e-resources created.
Valedictory Session:
The Chief Guest of the Valedictory Session was Dr. C. S. Sharma, Ex, Head,
Department of Education, N.A.S. College Meerut. The Chair Person was Mr.
Rajendra Sharma Member managing committee, N.A.S. College Meerut.
Other guest were Mr. Amit Sharma, Secretary, N.A.S. College, Meerut, Dr.
V.P. Rakesh, Principal, N.A.S. College, Meerut. The workshop convenor Dr.
Shikha Chaturvedi gave a welcome speech where she introduces the Chief
Guest and other guest present on the dais.
Dr. Shikha Chaturvedi, Head, Department of Education, NAS College
started Valedictory session by giving the report of the Seven Days National
Workshop. The output of the Seven days National Workshop was expressed
by her in detail. She highlighted the salient features of e-contents or e-
resources developed by the participants during the Programme.
Few participants displayed their e-contents on the screen which was
appreciated by the guests.
Few participants were asked to come up and gave their feedback
about the workshop. In this regard, Dr. Shikha from BIT, Meerut shared her
views about the training programme. In the same manner, Dr. Diksha
Yajurvedi from R.G. College expressed her gratitude towards the organizers.
Mrs. Ranjeeta from SSV College, Hapur shared her experiences about the
workshop.
The Chief Guest Dr. C.S. Sharma delivered his excellent speech in
which he shared his valuable experience on teaching and technology. He
said that the e-resources are the academic partners of the teachers. Dr. V.P.
Rakesh said that selective use of technology facilitate and give tremendous
support to improve the potentiality of teachers. Mr. Amit Sharma said that
teachers should be trained according to the present technological need

which facilitate learning. Mr. Rajendra Sharma in his speech gave emphasis
on value inculcation along with the use of technology.
The Programme was ended with vote of thanks given by Dr. Shikha
Chaturvedi, to Government of U.P. for its financial support, College
management Committee for encouraging to organize the workshop, to all
delegates for presenting their valuable views, to all participants for their
active works during the workshop, to all students for their active help and to
all media persons for giving due coverage.
At the end of the Valedictory Session, the certificates of the workshop
were given to the participants by Dr. C.S. Sharma, Mr. Amit Sharma, Dr.
V.P. Rakesh,& Dr. Shikha Chaturvedi.
Output of the Workshop:
In the present era, every act of our life is influenced by science and
technology and so is the case with teaching and learning also. The
incorporation of technology is also very much essential to make teaching-
learning more purposeful and effective. The present workshop was an
meaning effort to give hands-on experiences to the participants so that they
can use and share such experiences in their classroom teaching.
In the workshop School teachers, college teachers, teacher educators and
students prepared some e-content on various school and college subjects. In
the course of such preparation they knew about free and open resources
developed by N.C.E.R.T., CIET and other bodies. They also knew about
netiquettes and various online and offline software that are helpful in
preparing e-content.
In view of above mentioned points and the feedback given by the
participants we can definitely say that this workshop was a successful effort
by Department of Education, N.A.S. College, Meerut.
