Chesterbrook Academy Columbia – Preschool Summer Camp 2020

As a continuation of our Links to Learning® curriculum,

camp offers a fun-filled summer program for children

ages 18 months to PreK. Each week, preschoolers jump

into action, participating in fun and exciting activities

and special events.

Our preschoolers have the opportunity to expand their

horizons during the summer, embarking on new

adventures, and having fun!

Although we want the children to have the best

summer possible, we can’t forget about all they’ve

learned during the school year.

Our Links to Learning summer curriculum is designed

to review and strengthen skills taught during the

school year. Various academic activities will be

integrated throughout your child’s daily summer

experience.

Our camp program will inspire your child’s mind to

engage, explore, create and stay active this summer!

Weekly Themes

Brain Games Our little learners will join forces to

solve puzzles and complete matching while developing problem-solving and

reasoning skills.

Major Leaguer Campers will practice sportsmanship

through sports and games that focus on sharing, taking turns and being a good

friend.

Globetrotter Buckle up! We’ll be going on a cultural adventure around the world to learn about different customs, traditions,

and food.

Art Buddies Campers will put their creativity to

the test as they use a hodgepodge of materials to create wacky and abstract

masterpieces.

Friendship Tree Campers will work together to collect donations for children in need. In the

process, they’ll learn about the valuable role of community service organizations.

Zoom In Campers will practice fine motor skills

as they draw pictures and explore photography and cameras.

Shake it Out Don’t just stand there… bust a move!

Through dance, drama and music, campers will practice self-expression

while tapping into their inner performer.

S.T.E.A.M. Squad Campers will discover a magical place

where science, technology, engineering, art and math come together to ignite curiosity and

problem-solving skills.

Splash Zone Splish, splash! Campers will keep cool

this summer as they play water-themed games, explore at water tables, run through sprinklers, and much more!

Safety Town We’ll honor local police, firefighters,

military and other community helpers, and show campers how they too can

help by giving back and following safety rules.

Clay Play We’ll be making quite the mess this summer as campers participate in

hands-on, multi-sensory art projects using clay.

Eco-Explorers Sunshine, water and nurturing is all

it takes for a tiny seed to grow into a plant. Our campers will discover firsthand how weather and the

environment affect living things.

Sprinkled throughout each week, Activity Blocks give campers fun and variety in their camp day.

Ballet Dance Ages: 3 years & up Learn all the right dance moves with an introduction to ballet for your little ballerina. Intermediate and Advanced classes are available.



Kung Fu Ages: 3 years & up Teaching self discipline, hygiene, good manners, as well as the latest Kung Fu moves. Red Dragon Kung Fu also talks about “Stranger Danger” and how to handle emergency situations.



Swimming Lessons Ages: 3 years & up Swimming is a life skill as well as great exercise and a challenging sport. We offer lessons for ages three and up so that we can all safely enjoy the pleasures of an aquatic environment.

Miss Ham & Woody’s Music Class Ages: All Ages Miss Ham and “Woody”, her guitar buddy, create a unique way for children to learn music while having fun! She uses props, instruments, and other creative items while teaching songs, chants, finger plays and more!

S.T.E.M. Ages: 4 years & up This program will take participants into the land of moving things. They experience the epic battle between inertia and motion. Children get hands-on with the science of forces & motion, 4C skills of communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity with engineering design challenges.

Gymnastics Ages: 3 years & up Brenda of Joe’s Planet Funastics teaches tumbling, trampoline, balance beams, high bars and so much more! This class will increase your child’s flexibility, improve their balance, coordination and even their fine motor skills. Dress in comfortable clothing to allow freedom of movement.




Jump Bunch All Ages Jump Bunch ensures that a child’s first sports experiences are positive and exposes them to many sports options. Jump Bunch kids are more likely to be confident and ready to advance as they join their first organized team, or even as they choose sides on the playground. Exercise helps build strong bones and muscles, and it helps kids sleep well at night and stay alert during the day.


Soccer Shots Ages: 2 years & up A high-energy program introducing children to fundamental soccer principles and the basic rules of the game. Through fun games and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active.

Jr. Scientists Ages: 3 years & up This class is packed with loads of “hands on” activities and experiments, your child will be uncovering the mysteries of science one class at a time. Your child will bring home a take home sample each week!

Tennis Ages: 4 years & up Jim Hinson will be instructing our students as they learn the rules of the court, proper tennis form and court etiquette. No racquet needed, Coach Hinson has child size racquets and equipment available if you choose.
