PRESCHOOL PROGRAM 2015

Welcome to Summertime! MUSIC, SCIENCE, ART + EARLY LITERACY

Kingsley’s Preschool Summertime Program (ages 3-5) empowers children to act with creativity and compassion.

Founded on the Montessori philosophies of peace education and curiosity, students participate in fun, hands-on projects that combine music, art, and science. In each two-week session, our young friends explore the world around them while reinforcing the importance of collaboration and kindness.

WHAT IS MONTESSORI?

The Montessori philosophy calls for educating the whole child, including the physical, intellectual, and moral person. This principle guides Kingsley’s curriculum at every program level.

Montessori children are known for strong academics, independence, leadership, initiative, creativity, and self-discipline.

PRESCHOOL ONLY HALF-DAY 9:00 - 12:00 p.m ($625)

EARLY ARRIVAL 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. ($150) • EXTENDED DAY 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. ($150)

Preschool Sessions 1-3 AGES 3 THROUGH 5

SESSION 1 (JUNE 22 - JULY 2): FRUITS and FLOWERSPlant, taste, learn, and grow! Our young horticulturalists will learn about the parts of a flower, sing songs about the earth’s water cycle, create collages, and much more. Photography and outdoor nature education will also play integral part in this vibrant program.

SESSION 2 (JULY 6 - 17): BUGS and BUTTERFLIES Explore the colors, shapes, songs and science in the magnificent world of nature’s tiniest creatures. Students will witness the transformation of ladybugs, create insects with natural art materials, and interact with dramatic storytellers.

SESSION 3 (JULY 20 - 31): SKY and SEA

Sail the vast sea and soar the endless sky. Students will explore the mystery and wonder of these worlds as well as their inhabitants. Dynamic activities center on the importance of water and oxygen, watercolor painting, and creating wearable bird or fish costumes.
