Unit Summary

Students will identify and study styles of MODERN ART.

Students will incorporate knowledge gained from a variety of sources to create a MODERN ART installation.

Students will collaborate with others to create and evaluate their projects.

My Goals For This Course

Find ways to get my students more interested in

incorporating technology and art.

Enable students to realize all art has value.

Share ideas with other teachers.

Curriculum Framing Questions

Essential Questions:

Does all art have value?

What is art?

Unit Questions

How can movement, emotions, and the artistic process be reflected in artwork?

How can the audience be incorporated into artwork?

Content Questions

Identify three artists that work in this style of art.

Identify emotions and moods in artwork.

Identify artwork that incorporates sound and motion.

List three ways the viewer was involved.

Recognize the artistic process used.

Assessment

Prior to the unit students will fill out a KWL Chart and participate in class discussion To assess prior knowledge.

During the unit teacher will observe student modeling, conference with students and check assignment calendar to monitor progress.

At the completion of the unit teacher will use the project scoring guide , student reflection, and class discussion.

Students will increase their skills in using a variety of research

tools.

Students will learn to video conference with others

Students will learn to successfully work in a group.

Students will learn that even that everything has value.
