AN INTRODUCTIONAN INTRODUCTION
No doubt you have wondered about the Bermuda Triangle. It is the greatest
modern mystery of our supposedly well understood world: a region of the Atlantic
Ocean between Bermuda, Miami, Florida, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, where
disappearances of ships and planes not only continue but continue to defy
explanation.

TRIANGLE HISTORY
³The region involved, a watery triangle bounded roughly by Florida,Bermuda, and Puerto Rico, measures less than a thousand miles onany one side.´
. . .So George X. Sand introduced the Triangle to his readers inOctober 1952 in a short article for Fate magazine, entitled ³Sea
Mystery at our Back Door.´Sand¶s article recounted the latest disappearance (the Sandra in1950) and went on to discuss some of the other recent bafflingmysteries like NC16002, Star Tiger and Star Ariel.
The Triangle remained a colloquial expression throughout the1950s, employed by locals when another disappearance or unexplained crash happened.
By the early 1960s, it had acquired the name The Deadly Triangle. In his 1962 book, Wings of Mystery , author Dale Titler also devotedpages in" The Mystery of Flight 19´² to recounting the most recentincidents of disappearances and even began to ponder theories, such as electromagnetic anomalies and the ramifications of ProjectMagnet.

MISSING SHIPS Dozens vanished in the late 19th century and early 20th century.
Only now are some details beginning to emerge. Santa Rita is justone example.
 Timandra is another example. 1917
The Cyclops is perhaps the most famous of the early 20th century
disappearances. She vanished in March 1918 with 309 menaboard. She is the Navy¶s ³greatest mystery of the sea.´
Cotopaxi. Storm warnings had already been hauled down beforesh
e sent her last enigmatic message. She vanished without traceon December 1, 1925.
Suduffco was sailing the busy route to Panama, but no ship ever found a trace of her. 1926
The tramp Anglo Australian signalled ³all well´ before she
vanished in 1938. Captain Parslow was in command of 34 men. Same for Samkey. She signalled ³all well´ where the Anglo had
been. Her next call in time was when she would be entering theTriangle. She vanished without trace, January 1948.
Sandra vanished along her course to Puerto Cabello.

THEORIES AND
EXPLANATIONS The following are a few of the theories
which have been put forward by travelers
and scientists to explain the strange
 happenings and phenomenon at the
 Bermuda triangle.

MAGNETIC VARIATION THEORYMAGNETIC VARIATION THEORY
Magnetic Variation :: The majority of disappearances can be attributed to thearea's unique environmental features.First, the "Devil's Triangle" is one of thetwo places on earth that a magnetic
compass does point towards true north.Normally it points toward magnetic north. The difference between the two is knownas compass variation. The amount of variation changes by as much as 20degrees as one circumnavigates theearth. If this compass variation or error isnot compensated for, a navigator couldfind himself far off course and in deeptrouble.
If one goes strictly by the compass, he gets
deflected by an angle of 20 degrees from theactual north.
The red dot points to the
earth¶s true North while the
Magnetic north is 1500km
Southwards to it.

HYDROCARBON
CONCENTRATION THEORY
As a part of his elaborate dissertationDr.Spencer claimed that methane lockedbelow the sea sediments in the BermudaTriangle can explain the mysterious
disappearances. He told how subterraneanlandslides can unlock the vast beds of methane hydrate. This would bedisastrous, he told the audience, becauselarge amounts of methane would reducethe density of the water. ³This would makeany ship floating above sink like a rock.´
He went on to explain how the highlycombustible gas could also ignite aircraftengines and blow them to pieces.

VORTEX KINESIS
A VORTEX is an invisible funnel within a prairie, a water body
or anywhere, into which an unsuspecting person or object
walks and is held in a different time or space, through Space-
Time Warps. We can assume a vortex to be a glitch
or a discontinuity in the Space-Time continuum, the theory of which is given in Einstein¶s Special theory of Relativity where
he claims that time and space are relative concepts and a
continuity equation exists between the two. The Bermuda
Triangle is assumed to be such a gateway to a different
dimension hence all the ships and aircrafts passing over thearea get sucked into the space time warp and are lost without
any trace. All this happens within a fraction of a second and any
chances of escape or survival are practically null.

ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVEELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE
THEORYTHEORY Long before John Hutchison began his
pioneering experiments into electromagnetismand alternative energy, travellers in theBermuda Triangle had reported odd
occurrences involving electromagnetism: their ships or planes would be seized by a strangevapour, then all equipment would go haywire;unexplained fogs would sit over the ocean, yetin all cases the weather was not right for creating fogs, and there was certainly no
reason for electromagnetic aberrations such asthey reported.

HUTCHISON EFFECTHUTCHISON EFFECT
Though they remain unexplained, there is no longer the lack of
a cross reference for them²and this has to do with
electromagnetism. And that¶s where Vancouver scientist John
Hutchison comes into play. His experiments into
electromagnetism have unintentionally produced everyphenomena reported in the Triangle. The Hutchison Effect¶s
connection with the Triangle comes in many forms. Many of the
effects he has created mimic those reported out there:
strangely swirling clouds and lights, green glows and
phosphorescence, and electromagnetic anomalies.

ROLE OF TEMPERATUREROLE OF TEMPERATURE
VARIATIONVARIATION Hutchison noted that the greatest number of disappearances in the world occurred inspecific locales, ³vortices,´ he called them, which ³lie on the right or east sides of thecontinents, and all precisely in curious areaswhere hot surface currents stream out of thetropical latitudes toward the colder waters of
the temperate. . .´ He explains this is of ³enormous significance´ because ³these arethe areas of extreme temperature variabilitieswhich alone would predicate a very highincidence of violent marine and aerialdisturbances. What more likely areas,´ hecontinues, ³for storms and wrecks andfloundering, and even magnetic anomalies?´He went on to ask, ³Whether these vast[natural] µmachines¶ generate still another kind of anomaly that might cause somethingto µgo wrong¶ . . .in our space-timecontinuum. In other words, could they create.. . µvortices¶ into and out of which materialobjects can drop into or out of other space-time continua?´ This proves the unlimitedpotential of electromagnetism on matter.

EARTH: A wave generator EARTH: A wave generator
Since the Earth is itself anobject generatingelectromagnetic fields, arethere areas where some of these fields will intermittentlyinterplay and causeaberrations. To be moreexplicit, the Bermuda Triangleis properly situated on theEarth, in the areas of correct
temperatures and weather volatility, in areas of electromagnetic stresses, tocreate effects as Hutchison hasdone in his lab.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION
It would be appropriate to say that the
exact causes for the strange occurrences
at the Bermuda Triangle still remainunexplained. It is really ironical that in
this era of space research and
technological advancement, we have not
been able to solve one of the greatest
and oldest mysteries of our own planet.
