    According to the American Society of Civil Engineers, each day, leaking pipes account for an estimated 7 billion gallons of water

    According to the EPA, in biggest systems across the country, 30% of water pipes are 40 to 80 years old

    There is approximately 184,000 feet of pipe in Middletown. 98,800 feet have been in the ground since before 1961 (over 55 years)
