Summary: case (A day in the life)

A project manager have to make work plan of everyday and communicate with co-workers for implementing it.

The case study is on an typical day of a project manager, Rachel. Rachel uses her time properly in the office. She makes daily to do list to achieve the goal of a project. For this she communicate with people outside the office via e-mail or telephone and talks to co-workers of the office. A project manager should have patience, leadership power, good communication skill, handling a offensive situation, accountability etc. Rachel has almost all of the qualities but she need to improve communication skill. Because of it she had to face difficulties with clients.

Q.1- How effectively do you think Rachel spent her day?

Ans.- Rachel spent her day in a calculative way. At the beginning of the day she makes plan for whole day and before leaving the office review the whole day work activities. She also takes a little bit refreshment during the office time that do not harm her work and at same time she also feel fresh.

Q.2- What does the case tell you about what it is like to be a project manager?

Ans.- A project manager is a leader. S/he should lead project group toward achieving the goal. S/he has to be aware of the potential threats and good relation with everyone. S/he has to be patient and accountable to immediate boss.
