When connecting FTP you need

• Sim card provisioned for FTP only

• Your normal tems kits (i.e tems Phones,gps and laptop)

Softwares

This is a very important , you have install to Pc suite that suites whichever MS Model you are using , for Sony Ericsson users please use

1. Use Sony Ericsson PC Suite 3.2

2. Winscp software(for ftp download)

3. Tems Investigation (which ever version)

Connection ProcedurePlease follow these steps to connect your ftp to TEMSFirst Install your Pc suite and Tems investigation softwares and make sure they are working, when

this is done connect your MS (mobile) to your laptop, there should a pop noise at the corner right of your screen indicating that you Mobile has being connected to Sony Ericsson Pc suite.

If you cant see it , please go to program files from your start window button to open it.Launch you Sony Ericsson look on the left side of your window( be sure your Ms is connected and

the Green light on this interface is highlighted)Go to Tools- Internet connection - please click on the right where u have a screw down menu titled

Advanced settings, click on Create a new connection if you are unable to do this then know that you haven't installed this software properly, you may have to restart your system for it to function fully after installation.

CREATING A NEW FTP CONNECTION with your PC suiteThe first window that pops up Is the Welcome to the internet connection Wizard click NEXTInput the following• Name the Connection = Pos.ng• country/Region = Nigeria• Service provider = Other• Click nextConnection Type• select GPRS not UMTS• username = nil (leave blank)• Password =nil• Apn= pos.ng• context Id (CID)= do not alter the number that appears in the box ,Click Next• PDP type = IPInternet connection wizard• Leave the option on Dynamic IP address and Dynamic DNs address respectively and click Next• Finally Fallback connection creation set to No click next• Click on Finish

Connection contd…• Now that your Network connection has being created ,your system automatically

recognizes your MS and the type of connection so each time you connect you ms it automatically connects to your POS.ng connection, which is for FTP download.

• Next Please disconnect your MS and launch your TEMS investigation data Collection program.

• Connect your dongle key • Connect you ms to you laptop• Click on connect all icon to connect your mobile(Ms)• Connect your GPs and click on connect • Then go to Pc suite, internet connection and connect to Pos.ng connection by clicking the

connect buttonNext is your WINSCP softwareLaunch it after installation Step 1 be sure you have connected to your TEMS investigation first and connected to your Pc

suite second before connecting your WINSCP else it won’t work.Step 2 Open the WINSCP and do the following 1.Host – type 10.67.67.672. Port number 22 (as it may apply )3.User name= user, Password = user123 (please all in small letter not CAPS) 4.Click on login and wait for it to authenticate, click OK when its done authenticating.5. A split folder interface should appear, check the folder contents on the right ,scroll down

and find the folder called Ftpdownload and open it, check for any file with large MB size,click on it and it should starts downloading.

6. Go to Tems Investigation data collection interface , Presentation – GSM- Data services- data throughput, this should help you check if the Data throughput is downloading or not

Summary

• For ftp test the only connection that must be used should be your Pos.ng connection, if you use Etisalat it won’t work.

• Secondly the Sim card must be FTP provision if it is HTTp provisioned it wont work.
