• Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) is defined as a series of some of the equipment that is installed in a metal enclosure and insulated by pressurized gas.• In general, pressurized gas is sulfur hexafluoride used (SF6). Enclosure is a
protective sheath that serves to maintain the voltage of the outside environment.• Until now, as much as 80% SF6 gas produced worldwide is used as the
insulating medium in electrical systems. This is caused by the properties of SF6 gas as follows:
1. Thermal conductivity that are able to dissipate the heat caused by the equipment.
2. Excellent insulating.3. Able to extinguish arcing. 4. The low viscosity. 5. Stable, not easy to react.

• Impact that can be caused by disturbances on the bus if the disturbance is not immediately decided, among others, installation damage, the incidence of transient stability problems, and possible OCR and GFR in the system works so that disconnection spread.• Necessary requirements for busbar
protection are: • rapid disconnection time (the basic time) • Working for disturbances in the area of
protection. • Does not work for disturbance outside the

• Tripping process caused SF6 low pressure has 2 types, there are:• Block Close, process of conductor tripping by current flow in a compartment
caused SF6 low pressure. This process on Couple Bay and Transformator Bay • Direct Trip Transmission, process of tripping in partner substation. This
process only on Transmission Line Bay.
