Crop Calendar for Jharkhand
Objective: farmers get a set of decision options – what crops, when,
how, what probable threats vis-à-vis monthly crop planning
• Information on weekly agriculture practices and static information of
agro advisories under normal climatic conditions.
• Most important aspects of weekly agro advisories were translated as
pictorial diagram for each week in the crop calendar under normal
weather condition.
• Crop calendar contains information on common pests and its
management for the entire month.
• Twelve different themes covered
• Distributed to farmers –Jan 15.

Training program - “Developing awareness of farmers on
understanding Agro met-advisories and use of ICT for
accessing agriculture related information”
• Objective: Farmers have improved understanding on agro-met advisories

• Department of Agriculture and Cane Development has notified State
Agricultural Management Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) as
the Consortium Facilitating Agency for Jharkhand (letter number 1356 dated 10-04-
2015)

Selection of Field Extension Agents
• For piloting the strategy of CCKN-IA in the Kharif season, Field
Extension Agents from 41 villages have been identified.
• 20 Krishak Mitras from East Singhbhum district and 21 Krishak
Mitras and progressive farmers from Ranchi district have been
identified
• Field Extension Agents will act as a field level facilitators to disseminate
timely, relevance and authorized information to farmers and share the
feedback back to the NICE technical platform.
• Act as interface between farmers and NICE system

Network Coverage Assessment
• Network coverage and performance assessment for all the selected
CCKN-IA villages was carried out by a provide agency Handygo.
• The network coverage and performance assessment detailed out the
performance and coverage of 3G, 2G, and voice services of major
service provider like – BSNL, Airtel, Idea, Reliance, Tata, Vodafone.
