Project Goals

Trail Highlights

With the exception of the Village of Goshen, the trail extension will be a 10 ft. wide asphalt shared-use path for pedestrians, joggers, in-line skaters bicyclists and wheelchairsskaters, bicyclists and wheelchairs.

A marked ADA compliant sidewalk link will connect the shared-use segments of the trail through the Village of Goshen.segments of the trail through the Village of Goshen.

Information kiosks and maps will help guide users through the Village of Goshen.

Four (4) steel former railroad bridges ranging from spans of 30 ft. to 220 ft. will be rehabilitated with new decks and railing to accommodate the trail.

The crossing at Dolsontown Road is being evaluated to restore the grade separation ith a precast concrete bo c l ert

Trail Highlights (Continued)

New prefabricated pedestrian bridges are being considered to replace the bridges removed from Genung Street and Sprague Avenue in the City of MiddletownCity of Middletown.

The 10 ft. shared-use trail will be routed through the City of Middletown linking important destinations including the TransportationMiddletown linking important destinations including the Transportation Center and Thrall Library.

Property acquisition and easements will be required from privately p y q q p yowned land parcels.

Environmental considerations for the project include wetlands, stormwater management, endangered and threatened species and historic and cultural resources.
