• NEVER cross into a restricted construction area
• NEVER remove barriers or warning signs/warning tape
• When driving a vehicle near a construction site, slow down and be observant
• Be aware – read all construction safety warning signs prior to entering and while within a construction area

• Provide information about the upcoming landscaping changes
• Location: Grandview Avenue between Saulsbury and Lamar streets

• Complete in 2016

Gold Line History
• The Environmental Impact Statement determined that the trees on Grandview between Lamar and Saulsbury had to be removed because they were in the alignment or could overhang the power lines
• Moving or preserving the trees was considered but determined not feasible due to:
Size of the trees Slope at which the trees were growing
• The City of Arvada, Denver Transit Partners and RTD worked together to develop a landscaping redesign plan for this segment

• Removal of 54 trees from Lamar Street to Saulsbury Street along Grandview Avenue
• Redesign includes 66 new trees (various types) planted in this segment
Grandview Tree Selections

• Selected trees are indicative of the current landscaping found in Arvada
• Selected trees meet with the required height and width to ensure separation from overhead electrified lines
• Trees are compliant with the RTD/DTP commitment to safety along the alignment
Construction Schedule*• Lamar intersection work begins – early December
2012
• Tree Removal – early January 2013
• Drainage Improvements – mid January 2013
• Retaining wall construction – mid February 2013
• Grandview Reconstruction – mid April 2013
• Installation of new trees – late April 2013
*Construction schedules are subject to change.

Commitment to Sustainability• The City of Arvada, DTP and RTD worked together to
develop a sustainability plan to recycle the trees along Grandview between Saulsbury and Lamar streets
• The mulch will be available to Arvada residentso Mulching date – TBD
o Mulch pick-up location – Parks Maintenance Shop, 7800 W. 62nd Ave., Arvada
o Parks shop hours – 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
o Customers will need to load mulch
