well, constantly increasing its poten-tial and extending the scope of activ-ity. Currently, the marine industry is considered one of the most im-portant, most innovative and most dynamically developing branches of the Polish economy. The poten-tial of our shipyards amounts to 22,000 recreational vessels per year. In the segment of motorboats up to 9 metres in length, we are the Euro-pean leader and the second produc-er in the world, just after the United States. Our largest yacht yards, such as: Galeon, Delphia Yachts, Sunreef Yachts, Ostróda Yacht, Balt Yacht, Model Art/Parker Poland or Ślepsk account for approx. 70 % of the en-tire annual production. These are boats produced both under Polish brand names and for large foreign shipyards. We are proud that our in-dustry produces such foreign brands as: Jeanneau, Beneteau, Qucksilver, Sea Ray, Windy, Bayliner, Uttern, X-Yacht, Faeton, Fiskars Boats, and Askeladden Boats, among others. This proves the high position of the Polish marine industry in the world and shows that it is truly competitive. Due to a smart policy of reinvesting most of the income generated in the

I am proud to present THIRD EDITION of our Catalogue of the Marine Industry in Poland. After 4 years, we have managed to com-plete the third edition of our project which promoting and presenting our sector in the international arena in a concise and clear manner.

The Polish marine industry has been developing for years and although it is often closely tied with the heavy shipbuilding industry, it is a separate branch. In contrast to the shipbuild-ing industry, our sector is faring very

This catalogue is a collection of in-formation on the leading companies active in the marine industry in Po-land.

I would like to recommend this pub-lication to all the current and future partners of our industry, as well as to everyone interested in its devel-opment. I am confident that this catalogue will contribute to dissemi-nating the knowledge about the ma-rine industry in Poland and abroad, as well as to establishing many ben-eficial trade relations.

At the end, I would also like to thank all people involved in helping us to compile this catalogue.

Moreover, an important element further increasing the importance of the marine industry in Poland is the constantly developing port in-frastructure, as well as charter and training activities.

Our high position is the result of work of people who spent years de-signing and constructing sail and motor yachts. For more than 40 years, we used to belong to a block of countries where each state had designated sectors of economy to specialise in. Poland was selected to become the main producer of tanks and yachts, among others. Production of armoured fighting vehicles was not much of a suc-cess, but the production of yachts has managed pretty well and is flourishing in present-day market economy as well. Even now, many of the yachts cruising the waters of the former Soviet Union – Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Lat-via, and Estonia – are labelled as

The largest and most important yacht yards are located in four Polish regions: Western Pomera-nia (Szczecin, Kołobrzeg, Kosza-lin), Pomerelia (Gdańsk, Gdynia), Warmia and Masuria (Ostróda, Olecko, Giżycko, Olsztyn) and Podlasie (Augustów, Suwałki). It is there that more than 80 % of Pol-ish sailing yachts and motorboats are produced. These four regions are the cradle of Polish sailing and the marine industry. It is also there that the industry’s scientific and research base has been develop-ing, which in turn has given the industry a strong position in the international markets. Establishing this base required many years and the efforts of many skilled people.

‘Made in Poland’. However, only after the transformation of the po-litical system, market economy was free to develop in Poland so was, with extraordinary dynamism, the marine industry. Foreign capital started flowing into Poland. The largest producers in the world – Brunswick Marine, Jeanneau, Beneteau – place orders for their yachts and boats with Polish ship-yards, not only because workforce is cheaper in Poland, but principal-ly because this workforce is profes-sional, experienced, and handles difficult production with excel-lent skill. Seeing an opportunity to make a profit, new national busi-ness entities are established, and so are yacht yards and factories pro-ducing rigging and equipment for yachts.

In the last two decades, production of yachts in Poland has been grow-ing rapidly. We can assume that the real potential of Polish yacht yards exceeded 22,500 per year. In the last ten years the structure of yacht production changed to slightly larger, better equipped and more expensive vessels.

Each year, the high quality of the yachts produced in Poland brings them numerous prestigious awards and even more nominations for Polish companies in competitions organised throughout the world.In 2016 during the BOOT Dus-seldorf boat show Galeon Yachts from Straszyn, a well-known and internationally famous Polish shipyard, won the most prestigious title - European Powerboat of the Year for the Galeon 500 FLY model and a year later the 360 FLY mod-el triumphed on the boat show in Helsinki. In 2018 the shipyard was awarded the World Yachts Tro-phies at Cannes Yachting Festival for Galeon 640 FLY as a Most In-novative Yacht. Delphia Yachts Kot has won the Yacht of the Year awards in Poland (for Escape 1150 Voyage and Maxi 1200), Sweden (Maxi 1200) and Japan (Escape 1100 Soley). In ad-dition, the shipyard from Olecko have been nominated at the Eu-ropean Yacht of the Year in Dus-seldorf in 2016, European Power-boat of the Year in 2018 and Best of Boats in Berlin in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Yacht industry is obviously not only a manufacturer of boats and yachts, but also companies supplying fit-tings, masts, sails, engines, uphol-stery, equipment, etc. Many of our suppliers, thanks to high quality of services provided, have established lasting cooperative relationships with leading yacht manufacturers in the world. An example is Kot-niz, which ireceived a prestigious title World Class Manufacturing awarded by the Beneteau Group in 2017, the most important shipyard in Europe.

The support of the Ministry of Economy addressed primarily to small and medium-sized enter-prises is to stimulate their devel-opment, increase production and employment, and – even more im-portantly – improve their chances of successfully competing in for-eign markets. Furthermore, the Ministry of the Economy sub-sidizes innovation. Companies-members of the marine industry

Sunreef Yachts won the Asia Boat-ing Awards four years in a row. In addition, in 2016 and 2018 he was awarded the World Yachts Trophies at the Cannes Yachting Festival.Parker Poland in 2015 was the first Polish shipyard which won a prize in the Best of Boats competition at the Berlin boat show for its Parker 630 motorboat, and just a week lat-er won the prestigious French Mo-teur Boat award for the Parker 750. Furthermore in 2018 the Parker Poland shipyard have been nomi-nated at the European Yacht of the Year in Dusseldorf for Parker 690 DC and at the Best of Boats in Ber-lin for Parker 110 Monaco.

Of course besides that there is a long list of distinctions for boats produced in Poland for Western brands. For example at the BOOT Düsseldorf 2017, three models from Poland were nominated in the cat-egory of motor boats up to 25 feet - Sting 610 BR from Mirage Boats, Jeanneau CC 6.5 BR manufactured in Ostróda Yacht and Coremate Utility 23. from the Balt Yacht.In addition, new, young and dy-namically developing shipyards are

The Economic Chamber is an ob-ligatory partner for the legislative and executive. This allows us to act much more effectively to further the interests of the entire industry. In 2016, for the first time in the history of METS a Polish Pavilion was created. The initiator was Polboat.

The successes and export achieve-ments of the Polish marine indus-try are well known and appreciated by our foreign competitors. Now it is time to develop the national market as well and take advantage of the full potential that a country with 40 million inhabitants located in the centre of Europe is bound to have.

Therefore, Polish shipyards will continue to grow and expand and thanks to the investments in new technologies, advanced machinery and R&D centres will constantly improve its know-how and com-petitive advantage.

In 2002, the Boating Industry Association ‘Polish Yachts’ was es-tablished. Its members include the major producers of the Polish ma-rine industry. Since in the follow-ing years production and demand for Polish yachts and boats was growing rapidly and the Associa-tion wanted to secure its interests, it transformed itself into an eco-nomic chamber. The Polish Cham-ber of Marine Industry and Water Sports Polboat was established on 11 May 2006 in Warsaw. Its found-ing members were a hundred busi-ness entities active in the fields of production, services, water sports and recreation. Many years of ef-forts of people among whom many were members of the ‘Polish Yachts’ Association finally culminated in the establishment of a higher or-ganisational form, namely an Eco-nomic Chamber. Once the relevant legal procedures were concluded, the Chamber launched official operations on 1 January 2007. It

aquatic yachts is a Polish family shipyard specializ-ing in the production of sail yachts. its main aim is to sat-isfy the needs of those for whom sailing is a passion, of those who are looking for a fast boat with a sport pro-file, and of non-professional sailors who like to spend their time sailing a comfort-able yacht.

In 2013, Aquatic Yachts presented a new model of a sail yacht – Aquatic 25T, with new solutions in terms of cockpit and deck area development and large windows ensuring the op-timum amount of daylight. The cab-in has comfortable bunks, located at the stern, bow and in the mess, which can accommodate up to eight crew members. In the new yacht, the producer put the stern bunk a bit higher and in the present form the

bunk exceeds the standards promot-ed for 7.5 metre-long vessels. Thanks to the higher stern bunk, there is more space for the crew for resting and storing personal belongings. In its standard version, Aquatic 25T has many functional shelves and lockers, which provide enough space for the luggage of the entire crew. The galley consists of a cooker, sink and functional cupboards. Each ves-sels has a separate bathroom cabin with a chemical toilet, washbasin and space for sailing equipment. The boat is equipped with energy-saving LED light bulbs, which perfectly il-luminate the cabin after dark.

In the premium version, Aquatic 25T has a yet richer equipment, in-cluding: a galley with a fridge, heat-ing, TV set and loudspeaker system connected to the radio. On the out-side, it has a modern navigation sys-tem, a shower on the stern and the highest-quality fittings and capstans. One of the many assets of this vessel is its 0.33 m draught, which allows it to approach even the least accessible shores. Aquatic 25T combines perfect nau-tical characteristics with a sports profile, which puts it in the lead of 7.5-metre tourist vessels. Already a year later, company start-ed the production of MK Cafe ILC 40, which has won several awards, for example in the Admirals Cup. By now, our company have pro-duced hundreds of vessels of vari-ous types: ready for sail units and production equipment such as moulds as well. Gemini has worked out high qual-ity, which allowed it to develop and arouse the interest of foreign – mostly Western-European – mar-kets, where approximately 90 % of our units is sent. The company carries out many external, proto-type orders, which are serviced comprehensively – from the de-sign and documentation, through construction, up to finishing and

installation of fittings, rigging and equipment. We also deal with cer-tification of the units. yaCht eXPo is the main organiser of the Wind and Water Warsaw international boat Show, which is the largest exhibition event of the water sports and recrea-tion industry in Poland and an important event in the european market.

For the first time, the WIND and WATER Boat Show took place in 1990, in Zegrze, and since 1991 it has been held in Warsaw. It is a meet-ing venue for representatives of the industry and enthusiasts of motor yachting, canoeing, diving, and snor-kelling from all around Poland. With each passing year, the event is attract-ing more interest of exhibitors and visitors from abroad. Invariably, WIND and WATER has been the occasion to present the rich offer of yacht and yacht equipment pro-ducers, as well as manufacturers,

distributors and service providers in the broadly defined sector of sports, recreation and leisure on water. It provides numerous enthusiasts of water sports with practical knowl-edge about the sports and recreation equipment available on the market, and facilitates the development of interest in various forms of tour-ism and sightseeing. The WIND and WATER International Boat Show in Warsaw is also an annual herald of the coming season where more than 400 exhibitors from a dozen countries present their of-fers and which is visited by approx. 30 thousand people each time. To meet the expectations of exhibi-tors and clients, since 2006 YACHT EXPO has also been organising a summer edition of the WIND and WATER Boat Show. The event is held annually at the end of July in the yacht marina in Gdynia. The main goal of the WIND and WATER on Water Boat Show and Yachting Festival is the promotion of sea sailing and water sport, as well as providing enthusiasts of water recre-ation with an opportunity to evalu-ate the qualities of yachts, motor-boats and sports equipment in their natural environment – on water.

The event enjoys considerable inter-est among exhibitors. Its holiday aura and the programme of accompanying events (shows on water, concerts, re-gattas) encourages representatives of the industry and all water sports lov-ers from all over Poland to partici-pate in it. In 2016, the new edition, Silesian WIND and WATER Boat Show in Katowice was launched. Set-ting up the WIND and WATER Boat Show in Katowice, we recognize the huge potential of the region, which remains one of the strongest and most active sailing regions in Poland. The Hornet 29 yacht was created as a result of 25 years of experience in the construction of sailing yachts. It is a yacht refined in terms of nauti-cal and aesthetic. Meets the require-ments and needs of our shipowners. Hornet 29 is one of the few yachts on the market where the interior layout (to some extent) is free. You can have from one to three cabins closed by a door or not have cabins at all. In the three-rib version, two stern berths have a width of 145 cm each. You can have a toilet here from a tiny to a big bathroom, and kitchen on almost the entire right side - other versions also come into play. In all options, the interior is made in boatbuilding technology, i.e. waterproof plywood and precisely machined solid wood. It comes in a version with a steering

ŻAGLE is the only periodical about yachting which belongs to the Audit Bureau of Circulations Poland (ZKDP – ABC Poland). The estimated number of readers is 14,000 and most of them are men (76 %).
