Thank you for having us!
When you think of NASA,
What do you think of?
Heliosphere- We Study our SunPlanetary Science- We Study Other Planets
Heliophysics - We Study our Sun
Heliosphere- We Study our SunUniverse - We Study Other Earth Like Planets
Heliosphere- We Study our SunUniverse - We Study Other Earth Like PlanetsMars – Sending humans to Mars
Heliosphere- We Study our SunUniverse - We Study Other Earth Like PlanetsMars – Colonizing a 2nd planet
Why Study Earth From
Space?
• From the vantage point of space, NASA
satellites can “see” the big picture.
• It would be impossible to have
enough ships, weather balloons, or
scientist in the field to make the same
measurements.
• We can see Earth’s atmosphere, its
oceans and its winds as they travel
around the globe.

Why are clouds important?
As CloudSat
orbits the
Earth, it sends
out microwave
pulses into the
atmosphere.
The CloudSat radar
measures the time
delay and magnitude
of the reflected
signal
A fraction of these pulses reflect off of cloud particles and
bounce back to the satellite.
Other pulses continue downward

Cool, but science and engineering
aren’t my thing. I love art!

• Apply early, often recruiters only look through the first 100 resumes.
• Include a cover letter and make it personal.
• Hire a job coach to help you with your resume.
• Include key words in the job posting and pepper them throughout
your resume/cover letter.
• Make key connections, include the hiring managers name in your
application.
• Make connections using the internet as a too.
