One of the tsunami waves is about to crush all of

these people

Page 5: Presentation1

An earthquake rocks the bottom of the ocean floor

That earthquake sets off one single movement in one direction, this develops underwater at an amazing speed.

Seawater is then sucked back from the shore

As it approaches the coastline it forms giant waves.

Those waves then destroy the lives of innocent people, their homes and workplaces

One way on how Tsunamis occur

Long ago the two gods, Papatuanuku or Papa (Earth mother) and Tangaroa (god of the sea) lived in peace and harmony in the holy gates of heaven. Until one dark day arrived when Papa wished to leave heaven and go down and live on Earth. When asking Ranginui or Rangi (the sky god) he said “Yes but you need someone to go with you”. “Yes Rangi” Said Papa in dismay. She went looking high and low for one of her friends who’d go with her but everyone she asked said no! After four miserable hours of searching Papa found Tangaroa, Tawhirirmatea and Tane getting a huge growling from Rangi because they had drawn on the golden gates outside of his house. “Hi Tangaroa!” Said Papa. “Oh hi Papa!” Said Tangaroa. “ I might be moving to Earth! Well it’s still a maybe cause I need to find someone to come with me!” Papa answered. “Have you found anyone to come with you yet?” asked Tangaroa. “No! I’m still looking for someone! Would, you be interested?” asked Papa with eyes as wide as an owl’s. Tangaroa looked unsure but he said “Yes I would LOVE to come with you. Later that night Papa and Tangaroa went to speak with Rangi: “ Ranginui! I Tangaroa have chosen to go with Papatuanuku down onto earth.” Said Tangaroa. “You may leave! BUT you must promise me something; Tangaroa, you will become the Pacific Ocean. Understood!” Ranginui bellowed. “Yes Rangi!” Tangaroa said very fast. “And you Papa, you will become a country, Samoa in fact! Now leave. ” Rangi said. The next day Papa and Tangaroa were beginning to walk down the staircase of heaven. Not knowing that this would be the last time they’d ever see heaven again! (Until the end of time that is) Papa and Tangaroa looked like two shocked Gold fish after someone had put them in a bag and shaken them! Three miserable days passed and then out of no-where a gold glow appeared and before you could say lickety splits Ranginui was hovering above Papa and Tangaroa. “Haere mai ra Papa and Tangaroa! You have found food, I’m sure! “Yes Rangi we have! We’re pleased that you’ve come to visit us!” Said Tangaroa looking over joyed. “Have you come to take us home? Eeeeeeek” Asked Papa feeling sore after Tangaroa nudging her in her side. “NO! How dare you ask me this, you request to come down and live on earth and then after three short days I come and visit you and all you want to do is come back up to heaven with me well NOoOoOoO!” Ranginui bellowed. Then Rangi was gone. Thousands of years passed, Tangaroa’s still rising well above Papa,he is still as ke-korangi as the sky. Papa is dusty and rusty and she has aged over 9000 years! Papa has also become greedy, selfish, unfair and mean! So greedy, selfish that she has broken her promise to Rangi, she has taken up half of Tangaroa’s half of Samoa and all of the pieces of rubbish that have fallen onto her she has put onto Tangaroa as well. Tangaroa has so little room that he has had to flood some parts of Samoa. Papa has been doing this for over three hundred years and Tangaroa is about to stand up for himself! “Papatuanuku! The time has come for you to STOP growing your trees on my half of the land, STOP littering on me. Please STOP!” Asked Tangaroa. “ Well, NO WAY Tangaroa! I am pretty huge, right and I need ALL of this room, so STOP nagging!” Said Papa trying not to laugh. “Please Papa! This is the last time I will ask you!” Said Tangaroa growing impatient. “Um, No! No! No! No! I’ll NEVER EVER STOP!” Papa said to Tangaroa as if he were dumb. “Well, Papa you leave me know choice!” Yelled Tangaroa shaking his head wretchedly. Papa had not seen Tangaroa for the past three days. Suddenly the water was pulled back from the shore and waves began to build up then a person arose from the ocean and said:“Papatuanuku! You have broke your promise to Ranginui our Sky father. Because of these actions you have made you must now pay the ultimate price! Ahhhhhrrrrr!” Tangaroa screamed at Papa. Then Tangaroa pointed at Papa and the waves sprinted toward Papa as if they were running a race in the Olympics! The waves crushed Papa into pieces, Tangaroa came out of the sea and said “Papatuanuku have you learnt your lesson?”. “HAHAHAHAHA! NO!” Papa said really creepily! “Okay then!” Tangaroa said. Seven waves then crashed onto Papa and all of the trees that had grown on Tangaroa’s side of Samoa fell right back onto Papa along with all of the pieces of litter. Papa then cried out to Tangaroa; “I have learnt Tangaroa! Please STOP the tsunami! You are hurting me. I have learnt my lesson!”.To this day there are no trees that grow on the shores of beaches outside of Samoa. But people still litter in the ocean which is very infuriating! Tangaroa forgave Papa and now they are very close friends! The end.
