The Atlantech Lux technology transforms a normal lighting pole
into a passive-safety pole
www.atlantech.it/en
PASSIVE SAFETY – UNI EN 12767 This European standard considers three categories of passive safety support structures: - HE, high energy absorbing - LE, low energy absorbing - NE, non-energy absorbing Several levels of performance are given using the two main criteria (ASI and THIV) related to the performance under impact of each of the three energy absorbing categories of support structure. ASI - Acceleration Severity Index: value calculated from the triaxial vehicle accelerations, in accordance with EN 1317-1. It is considered as an assessment of the accident severity for the occupants of the impacting vehicle. THIV - Theoretical Head Impact Velocity: It is the velocity, expressed in km/h, where a hypothetical "point mass" occupant impacts the surfaces of a hypothetical occupant compartment
Crash test simulation of a lighting pole installed using the Atlantech Lux device
Crash test simulation at 70 Km/h, impact angle 20°
The rotation of the Atlantech box into the ground absorbs the impact and helps the inclination and the extraction of the pole
The vehicle stop takes place in a greater spatial arc compared to the use of the traditional concrete foundation
Stress and plastic strain

The Atlantech Lux technology
can save the life
A normal lighting pole, thanks to the Atlantech Lux technology, becomes
a passive safety pole
The pole tested in the simulation would reach the H3 passive safety class, the best class at high energy absorption
for the safety of passengers
ATTACHMENTS
Vehicle model
Atlantech Lux Small Plus device: the coupling between the lighting post and the small PLUS has been realized introducing two new parts to simulate the presence of the sand and the mortar that maintain the post in vertical position inside the bent separator diaphragm.
Soil: the soil used for the simulation is a medium hardness soil
defined according the EN 1317 norm. The curve here presented is the result of a numerical reproduction of a push/pull test realized on the numerical model of soil following the prescriptions of EN 1317-5
Simulation model: lighting pole of height 8,80m, diameter
148/60mm, installed for 0,8m into the Atlantech Lux Small Plus device
