Vision:  Sustainable  Conservation  of  WMA  resources  for  improved  local  communities  Livelihood    Mission:  Advocate  and  support  the  AAs  to  ensure  that  AAs  are  capacitated  and  accountable  for  the  management  of  WMAs,  rights  are  granted  and  optimal  benefits  are  accrued  by  the  local  people.      Strategic  Focus:  Corporate  Strategic  Plan  (2015  –  2020)

2.  Key  Achivements:  �  Release  (Gazettement)  of  long  delayed  WMA  Regulations  of  2012  among  other  4  wildlife  related  Regulations  

�  Coordinated  and  supervised  procurement  of  investors  in  17  WMA  hunting  blocks  resulting  into  contracts  worth  more  than  USD  4.3  million.    Better  contract  offers  than  those  of  hunting  blocks  of  the  same  categories  under  MNRT  mandate.    

�  Spearheaded  conflicts  in  WMA  which  threated  their  survival  (E.g.  Makao,  Ukutu,  Ngarambe-­‐Tapika,  Mbomipa,  Ikona,  Enduimet,  etc).                    

�  Provided  platform  for  all  WMA  together  with  other  partners  to  discuss,  share,  plan  and  decide  on  matters  which  affects  WMA  operations  

�  Institutionalization  of  WMA  monitoring  system  and  forming  Working  Group  

2.  Achievement…………..  �  In  collaboration  with  WWF  developed  WMA  Financial  Manual  and  conducted  Training  on  the  same  to  all  AAs.  

�   Support  interviewing  and  issuing  of  130  VGS  ID  � Marketing  WMAs  (www.twma.co.  tz)  � Through  persistent  advocacy  and  lobbying,  MNRT  agreed  to  review  procedures  for  WMAs  revenue  collection  and  disbursement              

�   Currently,  AAC  and  MNRT  is  organizing  national  workshop  involving  all  WMAs,  partners  and  donors  to  discuss  and  review  Performance  and  Governance.  The  happening  of  this  workshop  will  bring  new  era  in  WMA  management  in  Tanzania.  31st    June  &  01  July  2015
