Environmental problems in J&K
Shrinking water bodies and wetlands DeforestationLack of Energy Soil degradation Melting GlaciersRapid depletion of snow coverReduced Water Supply
Current solutions in J&KSolutions in the region are outdated Not suitable to the climatic conditions of the
valley Require heavy maintenance Consume lot of energy
When the Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) installed in houseboats by different firms were examined, some were outdated, some failed to function due to the climatic conditions, while others were too large and were unaesthetic, spoiling the beauty of the houseboats and the lake.
The demand and the market side
Waste- implementation of waste management projects
Water- need for effective sewage treatment plants
Energy- improve and increase the supply of power & alternative sources of energy

The roadblocks and challenges
Funds- currently under utilized Technology inadequacy- lack of adequate green
