The Board of Directors of the 2002 Raleigh Scholarship Pageant Association extends a warm welcome and thanks you for attending the 2002 Miss Raleigh Scholarship Pageant, "Let's Get Loud!" Tonight we are fortunate to have fourteen talented and intelligent young women from across North Carolina competing for the title of Miss Raleigh 2002. The Raleigh Scholarship Pageant Association believes in the mission, goals, and ideals of the Miss America Scholarship Program, a non-profit community based organization that is dedicated to providing young women with the opportunity for higher education, a platform for community service, and a forum to express their talents. Again, our board is delighted to have you with us this evening. So sit back and enjoy "Let's Get Loud!" Sincerely, The 2002 Raleigh Scholarship Pageant Association

When I moved to Raleigh a year and a half ago, I never imagined how quickly it would become home. I became comfortable with my job, made good friends and even knew my way around the beltline! Loving the weather, people and convenience to the beach, I didn’t think it could get any better then this! But it did! I was the chosen one to represent our capitol and now, my hometown, of Raleigh…what an honor! I had such an amazing year and I will never forget it… from singing in the mall, to judging the famous “Pageant” theatre performance at Theatre in the Park! I would be lying if I said it was a typical “Year of Service!” I have met so many giving and caring people this year and they deserve to know how much they are appreciated! Mr. Larry Stewart and Tricia Conrad- Belk’s Sponsor-I have always felt like I looked my very best for every appearance! Your generosity was beyond belief. Thank you! Larry Stewart and Misty Clymer Raleigh- Thank you so much for being a wonderful Carolina Princess, you were terrific! I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter (or better named) Princess! To the entire Miss Raleigh Board- Thank you for everything you do! Without generous people like you our organization would not exist, and so many young women would not have the opportunity to be a part of such a rewarding experience; you are all awesome! Melissa- Thank you for your motivation at the gym and all the help with music throughout the year! You have grace and style like no other; you go girl!! Lisa- No more forgetting my crown, or long afternoons with children and no restrooms! I know you will miss me! When I become famous, I will still remember you, don’t you worry!!! You have been a trip this year and I have enjoyed every minute spent with you! Candace- What can I say?? You are the older sister I never had. Your guidance and friendship means so much to me. I am so happy to have met you and I know that we will be friends forever! Mom, Dad and Ronnie- Thank you for being my traveling support team! I am so happy that we are close now. There is nothing like having family around! Your love and support have made me into the confident woman that I am today and I owe everything to you!! Thank you, I love you! Dave- Are you tired of all this yet? I know that 5 years (maybe 6??) of pageants is a long time…you are so patient! Thank you for always wanting the best for me. I love you with all my heart! To the new Miss Raleigh- Enjoy every minute of your year, time really does go by so quickly. Best wishes for you at Miss North Carolina this year.
