Upon arrival a t the Americana Hotel the President moved quickly and uneventuallyto his su ite on the 10th floor, to dress and wait for Lynda Bird and Mrs. Johnson. ""(Yolanda Boozer and Juanita Roberts waited outside door designated as one where "typewriter would be available for retyping the State Democratic Dinner speech.As more men went into the room to change into evening clothes, -- further delaying thestart of retyping the speech, another room was opened and set up for this work.

'. When the speech was retyped by Yolanda Boozer and proofed, she and MJDR found all: on that floor gone downstairs. The party was located at a reception . . . in a room off

__. the ballroom. ________________________________^^YB and MJDR located the entrance for the President's next appearance and waited ^

- there for the party which formed about pm. The President and Mrs. Johnsonstood in the kitche n anti-room to the ballroom for approx 6:57p to 7:06p withouttalking with each other nor with anyone else except Arthur Krim who apparently hid amessage for the President and spoke to him for a moment. Also, an unknown gentlemanbrought and offered a chair to Mrs. Johnson (who then was patting and rubbing thePresident's back). Mrs. Johnson declined the chair. During this period the head tableguests filed by and-took their places on the dais. . '
