Andrea Fiuczynski President Christie’s Los Angeles Andrea Fiuczynski, one of Christie’s star auctioneers and formerly Director, European Furniture and Valuations based in Berlin, Germany, relocated to Los Angeles in 1997. As Senior Vice President and Director of Business Development, Ms. Fiuczynski was responsible for the cultivation of new business in the Western States and oversaw the new West Coast headquarters and sales operations. She was appointed President, Christie’s Los Angeles in 2001, and in this capacity, continues to oversee the management of this office and cultivate new business. Ms. Fiuczynski is a leading member of Christie’s elite team of international auctioneers, regularly taking sales in Hong Kong, London, New York, and, as a fluent German and French-speaker, for special collection sales in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Switzerland. As one of Christie’s principal auctioneers, Ms. Fiuczynski has presided over many notable sales, including the Rudolf Nureyev sales in New York and London, the Mauerbach Benefit Sale and the historically unprecedented sale of the Collections of the Princes Reuss j.L. in the new Federal States of Germany. In December 2011, Ms. Fiuczynski conducted the haute couture Evening Sale for the Collection of Elizabeth Taylor. In Hong Kong, Ms. Fiuczynski has been conducting Christie’s major biannual sales for the past eight years, including the world’s first evening sale of Asian Contemporary Art in 2008. Highly regarded in the international marketplace, Ms. Fiuczynski is often specially requested by clients to conduct sales of their collections. Recent sales include Christie’s Artists for Haiti Sale in 2011, organized by Ben Stiller and gallerist David Zwirner, and New Day: Artists for Japan, also in 2011, with the direct involvement of Takashi Murakami. Ms. Fiuczynski provides her auctioneering services by request to charities throughout Asia, the United States and Europe, including amfAR, The Clinton Foundation, the Haiti Relief Organization and UNICEF. She frequently lectures at museums and hosts a series of mock auctions for the advisory community and educational institutions. She has been featured in Vogue, Tatler and Art Info under the headline “Women Who Shook Up the Artworld” in 2011. Ms. Fiuczynski joined Christie’s in 1985 and was a specialist in the firm’s New York French and Continental Furniture department through 1995. She has been an auctioneer since 1990.
